Just Self!. Our selfish and selfless side are just the most common exhibited behaviors!. Usually people identify with the 'self' and its content as a personal, separate individual which creates duality, not our true nature!. When we identify with the Self the context of being is emphasized!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

true existence is ineffable, it transcends reason!. because when you try to reason, you need to first articulate and define what the thing is!. by objectifying it, then it necessary incomplete since it is somehow different from the rest unless you make a self-reference fallacy!. thus the true nature cannot be described directly!. at best you can only make metaphors, analogies, being close to it, approximations such as foregoing description, but it will never be it!.

by objectifying true nature with self in space-time give rise to selfishness!. self has gain or loss at the expense of its counter part!. so by being human, we are necessary selfish by varying degrees!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

We are born selflsh , certainly!. Look at the way the child cries for the milk from the mother!. Look at the way the child cries out seeking attention!.
Then , as the child grows , it understands that someone ( a mother) is giving her time and effort to help it!. It starts to think of the first steps to understand NOT being selfish!.As life progresses the world around the person teaches lessons about being selfless and equally selfish!. It is at this point the human thinks of using his freewill!.Choose rightly he becomes a selfless person!. Choosing wrongly he ends up a selfish one!. Many sit n the fence and are unable to be either!. They osclliate between the two!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A little bit of everything but mostly selfish!.!.!.

self leads to selfishness, so that pretty much goes hand and hand!.!.!.

however, selfless is extremely complicated!.!.!.i can read people's true motives pretty good (in real life, not in text), and what I have noticed is that about 99 out of 100 people that i see being "selfless" are honestly reverting it right back to selfishness!.!.!.it's allot like celebrities, we see them on the news and in the magazines helping people out in disaster crises, etc, and they get the good person image!.!.!.!.and they know that, they aren't helping people because they want to, they are helping them because it makes other people perceive them as a better person!.!.!.however most people are aware that helping others is a pretty good feeling!.!.!.!.so is that feeling reverted right back to selfishness!? do we just help others because it makes us feel better!?

i notice this allot in religion, churches and charitable organizations do allot of good things!.!.helping the poor, food drives, etc!.!.!.but almost everyone of them are doing it because people will perceive them as a better person!.!.!.and of course that generally decent feeling that cannot be denied when helping others out!.

rarely do i ever see actual motives that aren't reverting to selfishness!.!.!.and why!? because they don't care to be seen, there are very select few amount of people that are selfless (that i have seen), i don't know if it's because of their religion, or they're lucky/blessed lives, or they're on drugs, i honestly couldn't say for sure, maybe i just misread them!.!.!.i would like to hope that i didn't

so there is a very few that may have potential for being selfless, but on a majority of speaking, we're all just a bunch of a**holes!.!.!.!.including me, i don't like to admit it (and i'm obviously not trying to selfish), but i try not to let me ego get in my way of seeing truth!.!.!.

so yea, we are pretty much self, selfish peopleWww@QuestionHome@Com

the basic nature of humans is egocentric!. it is only through association with others that we learn to love, share and respect others (although some never do) This is all basic instinct that drives us to survive!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Our true nature is to be evil!. You've seen it happen everywhere, from Nazi Germany to children in a park!. It's our nature, which is why we need the Holy Spirit to help us do good things!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Man is basically selfish!.We arrive alone to the world and we die alone ,too!.That`s why we are deeply concerned more about us than about the others!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
