I personally believe that there is hardly such a thing as "freedom", in the sense that we may do anything we choose!.

Freedom comes from the ability to make unconditional decisions, which as far as we as human beings understand, is rather impossible!. (example: Living forever)

The closest thing to being "free" is being independent!. When we rely on nothing but ourselves to do what we please (meaning, without any regards to religious belief's), then that is what I would call being "free"!. If you can make your own decisions and have complete disregard to any restrictions, you're free!.

Your BODY was not asked whether it wanted birth; but that part of you that rejects its existence did not come with the package--you chose it!. Proof!? You can UNchoose it!. That choice comes with the metaphysical hierarchy a person builds in his tabula rasa mind!. Many losers have become winners, many winners have become losers, with a change in metaphysics--or epistemology!. Either one can change your outlook!.

"You" who rejects existence did not exist at the time of the birth of your body!. What you put inside your mind is just as important as what you put in your body--food for growth, or poison!.

And declaring that suicide is "horrific" is another metaphysical choice you have made, so don't blame that on the simple fact of your existence!. Others who exists at the same time as you will commit suicide and not find it "horrific!."

Don't blame the existence of "you" on the fact that what did not exist was not consulted before being given the opportunity to become someone that exalts in his being!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Many in this world believe that each one does make a choice to be here and in the situation to which they are born as they continue in the cycle of birth, death and re-birth of samsora!.

Further, one is in ones current or present situation due to the choices that one has made during that ones life, the consequences of the same in a cause and effect relationship from which all that is arises in interdependence!.

One may be choosing to live within the delusion of ones chosen subjective view of reality rather than choosing to learn to see what is for what it is objectively!.

Freedom arises from understanding and knowledge, which can be employed into correct practice to the benefit of all that exist as well as to ones self remembering that no one is truly free until all are free!.

I agree with you!. What people consider "freedom" is far from the definition we read in dictionaries!.
I was not free to choose my birth, I was not free to deny school, I was not free to choose alot of things in my life!.
However, the truth is that freedom is dangerous!. People should never be allowed true freedom, it would only result in chaos!. People would be free to murder whomever they choose, rob whomever they choose, etc!.
True freedom would result in extreme injustice!. In our world we are given the freedom of speech etc!., and as such we are as close to true freedom as we should be allowed!.
I'm with you on the suicide thing though, people should be allowed to die if they so wish it, as long as it does not put others in harms way!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
