The man rejuvenated the long-since-de-bunked Malthusian catastrophe, only to see it de-bunked yet again!. Somehow we were going to "run out of resources" by 1980!. By 2000, England would no longer exist!.!.!.!.!.
These are the ideas that influenced such examples of popular culture as the movie taking place in a "post-industrial wasteland" - - - Soylent Green, Mad Max, Waterworld!.
Clearly the themes of these movies are frightening to people!.
But, in reality we've moved in the opposite direction, precisely because Ehrlich was wrong and Julian Simon was right!.
Should there be more Julian Simon - influenced movies and fewer Paul Ehrlich movies!?
