Question: Will the world end in 2099!?

There are many people claiming the world will end in 2012 based on the Myan calander, Nosterdamus, Biblical phrophicies etc!.

Microsoft windows XP calander ends at 2099!. Does this signify that Microsoft believes the world will end in 2099!? It is just a distant date which Microsoft chose to stop counting, just as the Myan's chose to stop at 2012!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I believe that many people born in 2098 will go onto live long lives!. Our species is not at risk of extinction at the moment and any catastrophic events are likely going to be survivable for even only a small percentage of the population!. Anyone reading this will likely be dead of natural death by the year 2099!.

For the length of human history, people seem preoccupied with forecasting the end of humans as a species or our planet!. I never quite understood why people wouldn't live and enjoy life rather than frightening themselves with the impending END!.

I expect the technology will have advanced so much by 2099 that an end isn't just realistic!. Life finds a way to survive -- sometimes with help and often on its own!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

First of all, the fact that they stopped the calendar then has nothing to with the end of the world!. They just decided to stop there!. The Mayans actually believed that the world would end in 2012!. They believed that the same thing has happened before--the world was ended in a set number of years, each tim because of a different catastrophe; i!.e!. flood, eaten by leopards, etc!. This world was supposed to end by being burned, I believe--which, while coinciding with the whole global warming thing--is just a myth that people like to get hyped up over!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This world is destined for destruction, as all things created of matter are so; though humans will live on because we have a soul!. But the time for the ultimate end of this world is known only by God himself!. The world ended in 2000 when all of the computers were set to only count up to 1999, right!? So it HAS to end again in 2099, and then again in 2999, and again on 2222!.
