For anything on yahoo answers they just reply by refering to whatever said in the bible!. I wonder whoever is replying is not HIS saying it is bible replying to me and I am asking the qsn to him!.Jesus and bibles are 2000 yrs old!. The psychology, philosophy, science, and living standerds, societies , cultures , languages everything has changed in 2000 yrs ,even though we are stuck somewhere around 2000 yrs back!. All the riligious scripture have unbelievable mythalogical miracles , which are undigestable in this scientific age!. Don't you think the time has come for us to publish the latest version of testaments!. Why we just simply don't answer which comes very much from our own within!. Doesn't matter if it is wrong but it's yours!.This is the same with all the religions!. I dont say we don't have to refer to history!. But flower need fresh soil ,rain , sunlight to bloom!. They are followers and cannot think for themselves because they are living in a type of cult atmosphere!. They are superstitious as well and think having the Bible at all times will keep the demons away!. Their safety net in case someone wants to judge them!.
They write the scriptures right out of the bible because they assume you refuse to pick up a bible and read it yourself, even though, you sound like you have and understand that it is a questionable read throughout the book!.
They also feel that if they use the scriptures you have no power to rebutt what they say because it is coming from God!. They think they have the power to answer for God because they hold the bible, but the fact is they don't really understand the bible that well if they are not thinking for themselves!.
A new version won't help at this point, because it would be so way off that people would not be able to comprehend it!.
It's been word of mouth all this time and it's been changed by so many different people that who knows what parts are correctly even translated!.
A revolution of theology is what's needed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Then you are missing out entirely on what the Bible is about!.
You can say that languages, culture, etc!., have changed, but people still sin, in the same ways: homosexuality, drunkeness, murder, rape, theft, and on and on!.
If you understand modern society, you know that nothing has really changed!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You're missing the point!.That's the power of Christianity, it's 2000 years old and still powerful and strong with more and more believers!.
If the answer comes as a quote from the Bible it doesn't mean one has it in his hand , it's in his heart!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

"Thou shall not change His work without first changing themselves" - Sam!. 14:2

actually, i just made that up, sorry!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Are you sure that is a question or it is just that you are criticising!? You have got to be clear!. Hate it or not, christianity is here to stay!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Obliviously the stories of the bible are outdated, but the lessons it teaches are not!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have to agree w/ earlier anwer: I'm not sure there's a genuine question anywhere in your ramblings, only criticism!. That being said, I will agree with you, too, that there are individuals in our society - Christians and otherwise - who spout rhetoric, quote "scripture" and generally behave in a very embarrassing manner!. Jesus left us with one commandment: "Love one another, as I have loved you!." I don't think most of us do that, yet I believe it should still apply to all our lives, 200+ years old or not!. HE loved us in a really big way to die for us the way that He did, and too many of us are selective in the scriptures we follow, quote, and "preach" to others!. You probably won't find this a very "fresh" answer, either, I'm afraid, but I hope you do find the answers you seek!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You are right in a certain sense!. I am a Christian Philosopher, and it pains me to observe that others who follow the Christ that I do reject the richness and robust nature of ALL the knowledge that God has created!. The fact that we are communicating electronically comes from technology, invented by man but based upon priciples in nature that God created!. All of life is based on thousands of spheres of knowledge and information and specialization!.!.!.!.ever taken Tylenol for a headache!? How about the train to work!? Appreciate that brand new Macbook you got recently!? We need the Bible to know and obey God---but that does not lessen our need for other forms of knowledge!.

Your other point regarding the veracity and relevancy of the Bible must wait for another time and category :)
