Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: probably not, thats one of Homeland Securitys biggest fears!. An EMP can wipe out electricity in almost every single state, more than 3/4 of the United States!. The country would destroy itself from within, chaos and looting everywhere, riots!.!.!.!.!. don't even wanna talk about what the world might do to itself!.Www@QuestionHome@Com There would be a complete breakdown in communications, and people on life support systems would have to rely on backup systems, also the business sector would suffer via the computer systems, stock market share prices would be suspended around the world, power stations computers would go onto their backup generators!. Absence of electricity is not a determining factor for survival in this world!. In the past!.!.jeez! just think of the time when the US Constitution was written, men were able to think, live and socialize greatly w/o electricity!.
