The world would be a very sad place without anger!. Anger is one of the things that moves us from where we are standing, to where we feel we really should be!. The other is fear!. We almost never do anything for ourselves until we get angry enough or afraid enough about our situation to make a move!. Even people who never exhibit anger, FEEL anger!. They pretend they don't because it doesn't look good!. But it's still what moves them!.

Anger is often the face of fear!. And sometimes fear is the face of anger!. But the two are always present even in the most enlightened!. The truly enlightened can at times or most of the time, eliminate the influence of both anger and fear and act freely!. But that doesn't mean the emotions don't exist, just that such people are not controlled by their emotions!.

Trouble is to move from a person controlled by anger and fear, to one unencumbered by anger and fear, takes a lot of anger and fear!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

From an evolutionary standpoint, the purpose of anger is: to bring out the full potential to increase the chance of your survival in the given environment!.

Whether it is your family, or a friend, or your possessions, when they are threatened you become angry: it is because you are biologically made up to protect your needs and wants!. Anger becomes the predominant feeling behaviorally, cognitively and physiologically when a person makes the conscious choice to take action to immediately stop the threatening behavior of another outside force!.

Anger also release hormone called adrenaline!. When secreted into the bloodstream, it rapidly prepares the body for action in emergency situations!. The hormone boosts the supply of oxygen and glucose to the brain and muscles, while suppressing other non-emergency bodily processes (digestion in particular)!.

People often view anger as a "bad" emotion, because it seems to do more harm than good in most situations!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Anger is a survival tool, a source of energy!. It is an instinctual, primal reaction to a situation!. It sends signals to all parts of the body to prepare us to flee or fight!.
Anger, also, is a secondary reaction/feeling!. You said "because we are scared"!.!.!.that would be the primary, anger at the situation the secondary!. There is always another strong emotion before anger sets in!. Anger can be a good thing!. It can teach us what we value, what we need, what we lack, what we believe and what our insecurities are!. It can help us become more aware of what we feel strongly about and which emotional needs are important to us!.
Anger can also be a bad thing!.!.!.repressing anger for fear of hurting/distancing someone, letting anger take over without any sort of boundary, stewing in anger, letting it control us leads to very palpable physical and mental setbacks!.
Anger in its proper place is cleansing, and should always be examined afterwards!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Good point about the fear part!. I was going to say that it gives me adrenaline to physically push myself harder!.!.!.!.and to overcome that fear, now that you got me thinking!. I can get angry and push myself to run another lap during my cardio routine, or physically take someone down when need be (I'm in law enforcement!.!.!.!.not some psycho)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think anger comes from pride!.
When someone disrespects, humiliates, lies, cheats, or embarrasses you, it attacks your pride and triggers your anger!.
