Question: So we die!.!.!.and then what!?
I think the prospect of dying is so boring!. I'm sort of indifferent to the idea of heaven and hell because I think the idea of both is ridiculous!. You either go to heaven!.!.!.and then what!? You sit in a white room with a bunch of other good people and talk!. You go to hell and get tortured for the rest of eternity by a bunch of scary looking assholes that have nothing better to do but poke you with red sticks!.
For the rest of your metaphysical exsistence!?
Is that really it!?
I don't necessarily believe in reincarnation but I do hope it exists because it sounds a hell of alot more exciting than the theory of what heaven and hell (if you even believe in it) are like!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Don't go there!. If being poked at with red sticks is the 'best' you can do for hell, then have an imagination check!. Hell would/will/might be that which is the worst for you!. So mental torture beyond physical, but probably uncertainty and no clarity!. Best not to think of what the options are!.

However a heaven could transcend our existing notions of what 'doing' something is!. Compare the life of an ant, with your life of freedom and will (if you entertain such things)!. And what does the ant know of our lives!? So, how can we conceive of what is beyond this life!?
A better question might be, how do you even know you're dead!? As self-knowledge implies existence - and to exist is to be alive (at least with enough brain power left to conceive of the notion that you are dead)!. If we are just animals, then we're animals who can never know we're dead!. It's the contrary idea to Descartes' 'Cogito ergo sum' - not "I think therefore I am", but "I cannot think that I am not"!.

Or, maybe "Heaven" isn't at all like the place you hear about!.
What if "Heaven" really is different for everybody, and it's just one gigantic wish-fulfilment thing!? It might not suck so bad then!.
I'd want to read everything ever written!. Then everything ever thought of that wasn't written!. All the stories that the great authors never got around to telling because they were busy, or died!.
Then I'd want to take the Tour!. Of the Universe!. Every planet in every system in every galaxy!. By the time I was finished, I'd haveto start over again because everything on the first planets would have changed by then!.

When you die, you die, there is no "you" to recognize or interact with anything after death!.
We're just like grass!. It grows, it gets eaten by the grass hopper!. The grasshopper gets eaten by the bird, the bird dies; his body rots and some flies are born, and they get eaten by spiders, lizards etc; then they die and their bodies fertiilize the earth and another blad of grass grows!.
Or the grass may get eaten by a cow, passes through and becomes manure, nourishes the earth and another blade of grass grows!.
Human beings also die, fertilize the earth, and grass grow!.

yeah, i used to think exactly like you but Heaven is not sitting around singing!. It's "think of the best earthly thing you can and imagine it 100 billion times better" im not saying its something earthly, but that Heaven is endless happiness and once your their you can't stand to think about earth because it is so terrible compared to Heaven!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There is another possibility!. You die!. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, you are fertilizer for vegetation!. (unless you are cremated, then you're just dust!.) Life goes on without you!. You get this one chance at life then it's over!. Each new day is a gift!. Your legacy is what you leave behind!. What is wrong with that!? I agree, heaven, (at least from the descriptions of people who have never been there) doesn't sound realistic or even enjoyable except for the no pain part, and maybe the virgins if they exist, but even they would get old!. I cant think of any thing I would want to do for eternity!. And about Hell, isn't living on earth enough torture!? Reincarnate me into slavery!.!.!. wouldn't that be the same thing!? I think from the variety of different descriptions of those places, and the basic simplicity and vagueness of the descriptions!.(pain/no pain, happiness/torment, virgins, and whatever other thing someone might want as an eternal reward) they were invented for the benefit of the weak minded that needed a promise of something better to go on to!. I'm with you, if reincarnation doesn't exist, I'd just as soon be done with it!. When this body is too old to enjoy life anymore, Bury it!. But dont give up on life because the future looks bad!. No one has a crystal ball!. Heaven- there is big throne to the right (this is in the bible) and on that is Jesus who saved you from your sins!. all you have to do it believe that he died for YOU and everyone else!. if you confess you have sinned and that you belive in him!.!.!.then you can go to heaven!. there are streets of gold!. and no one will ever be upset, mad or anything like that agian!. and the lion and the lamb won't be fighting they will be friends!.
Hell- you get thrown in a lake of fire!. this is going to happen for eterninty!. people have imagined the devil red with horns and we really don't know!.!.!.after Jesus comes agian he will take all of the believers to heaven and then the people left!.!.!.he will make life so miserable for 7 years!.!.!.!.that MAYBE they will confess tooo!. he wants everyone to be saved!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
