"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose!.!.!."
There are times when to take a step back is the better option, letting oneself regroup and get a better view of where one is headed!.
There are also times to remain still and not take a step back, as the landscape behind us might have changed or (as one example above showed) it might not be a safe option!.
Of course, you didn't mention the third option -there are times when the only reasonable course is to keep moving forward!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your using the word "better" implies you consider different actions and/or effects to have different degrees of acceptability!. Taking a step is understood like making change!. Then taking a step back will mean making change for worse!. By the original definition of "better", such a change can never be acceptable!. Therefore it is better for you not to move at all!.
This concern comes up of two human tendencies: one, to evolve and desire evolution; another, to do something, whatever it is!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think that once you have really, genuinely seen something with all your entire being it is totally impossible to go backwards!. That is not to say that you are enlightened or any nonsense like that, but rather that once you have seen something right down to your bones you can't go back to how you were before you saw it!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well i guess stepping back wud need a lot of courage and not to move at all will prove that u r sick!.!.
so i think stepping back is appropraite cuz it may give u a hint abt the next step
and also prove that u r courageous!!
which may boost u to succeed!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

If there is a tiger in front I would not move if I am at a crossroads I would take a step back and look the situation over hmmm I think it would depend on each situation to how I would answerWww@QuestionHome@Com

That depends on what you have walked into!. Sometimes stepping back provides the best perspective otherwise you will become lost in the action!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
