Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Sophie's World lolWww@QuestionHome@Com The best book of philosophy I know of (and I've read a lot) is The Philosophy of Marjorie Grene published by Open Court Press!. She is a realist (she says she believes in "realism with a vengeance")!. She demolishes all the idealist nonsense of the past few centuries beginning with Descartes and his "mind in the machine"!. The best thing about the book is that it is very funny!.Www@QuestionHome@Com The Republic by Plato!. The Nature of Art by Wartenburg is a nice anthology!. Classics of Political and Moral Philosophy an anthology by steven m!. cahn is great!. The Leviathan by Hobbes!.
