Here, in the philosophy section, we hold that the unexamined life is not worth living!.

Therefore it is worse to lack meaning than it is to suffer from the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If one chooses to suffer for a cause, there is motivation within that person!. If there is a total absence of meaning in one's life, there is likely no motivation within that person!. To have motivation is to have purpose!. To have purpose is to have a goal!. To have a goal is to have a vision!. An ancient Jewish proverb eludes to the fact that a man without a vision will perish!. Is the absence of meaning a motivation to perish!? Is lack of motivation reason enough to be considered as "worse" in the question you've posed!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
