Question: How has George Carlin effected our freedom of speech!?
I just saw that George Carlin died recently!. I have idolized Carlin since I was a kid!. I found his philosohies on life to be an inspiration in my own life!. His brand of comedy and his 7 words you can't say on television, made me realize just how absurd and arbitrary the whole idea of a "dirty word" actually is!. I believe America has lost a true pioneer and visionary for the cause of free speech!. What are your thoughts!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I never evaluate the other answers before answering!.

George Carlin is the patron saint of free speech!. He saw the humor inherent in our daily lives, saw the absurdity of it all very clearly!.

One of my Heros had passed on!. I'm taking the day off in celebration of mourning!. I'm going to spend this day praying to doorknobs in his honor!.

God will forgive me for this idolatry because He has a sense of humor!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

He stood long upon the pedestal as art often does!. A cast was left and is there another man alive who can stand in his place to finish the work he has started!? He has aged away only in body but not in spirit and there on the pedestal of time he stands in spirit , can you still see the man he was before his time here on earth is forever gone, will you keep the chain of events going like the string of life which reminds me of Ben Franklin and the key!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'll miss him too!.
As George put it, "I'm a footnote in American history", as his performance prompted the clarification of prohibited words!. It's good to be clear, thank you, George!.
But he's more than a footnote to those of us who love(d) seeing and hearing him!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
