Most artists don't make good money, and are seriously pushed around every which way by evaluation of their work by others - It doesn't work that you do what you want and people buy it - They buy what they like and and so you are stuck either starving or giving them what they like and being pulled around about the idea of what your best work is - Its a minefield - better to do art as a hobby and carry on loving it- i'd say it was hard to find something to do that you really love that brings in plenty of money!.

You could start to enjoy what you do - or start to learn to enjoy yourself without money but your sums are not balancing at the moment!.

Can you get secondment in your job!? Or a sabbatical year!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

What is the thing you would enjoy doing most, that would contribute to society, and you would love doing even if you didn't get paid!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

You only need love and determination to master anything!. You don't need to be good at anything!. Do what you like!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Read some Marx!. He has a theory about alientation of labor, which is essentially what you're experiencing!. You'd enjoy it!.

That aside!.!.!. I think I understand where you're coming from!. I've always been "good" at everything!. I excelled in all sorts of things!. As a college student, I've had many professors in all different areas encourage me to major in their discipline because I was apparently a "natural" at it!. But I took three years off because I couldn't declare a major!. I didn't know what I wanted to do in life!. I'm an avid reader, so I spent a lot of time reading during my years out of school, and returned last year with some sense of direction!. Since I couldn't decide on any specific career I thought I would enjoy for life, I'm majoring in sociology, because it's really about identifying and trying to fix problems in society, and for me, there is no greater feeling than knowing you've helped someone in need!.

All I can recommend is that you use your free time to explore new things!. Take a couple classes at a community colllege!. Volunteer!. Read some new books!. Try some of those things you've always been curious about!. Eventually something will click!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
