Well the ancient Myan calander wasnt made to exceed 2012 and the Chinese calender ends then too, and the myans were very accurate with what they did and there was this chinese yen toss method used with 3 coins and the scientists on the history channel mapped the results and the high points matched up with historys dates, i believe including the "end of the world" and they also say that if global warming doesnt stop, in 10 years the ice caps will all melt and they help reflect some of the suns rays back into the atmosphere so the oceans will rise causing there to be no way for climate control and everything will warm upWww@QuestionHome@Com

there is no end!. It goes on forever!.

The "end times" in scripture have already occurred (around 70 ad)!.

In December 2012 there is some sort of change that appears to be taking place, with our unique 26,000 year solar system alignment with the center of the Milky Way and our addition (temporarily) of a thirteenth zodiac sign!.

But I think this change is not the end, but simply a transition!.

I also think the "powers that be" will use the buildup about this date as an excuse to do something, probably something awful!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

5 billions years, that's for sun to light out, but if you look at us today and 100 years ago, the technology development, it is obvious in 3 billion years human would be either leaving this solar system, or find a way to move earth somewhere else where sun could not eat it up and of course developing different type of sun to deliver what we are receiving from it now :))

as of the end of the world personally I think I would not give it more than 100 years!. It does not look two WW did learn us something!. Form outside you have NATO, ONZ all those agreement for non nuclear, non military, etc, but it would be foolish to think the biggest players arent hiding something for the last moment!. I think if you see clips of MOAB (mother of all bombs), the same time military has the same bomb being 1,000 times stronger, but nobody needs to know about it!.
Next war will be very short, simple but very painful, like a fast knock out, nobody will send any military somewhere to fight everything rockets GPS navigated or remote controlled very heavy staff killing in thousands (check some war stats each war is way more deadly),

If you are talking about complete annihilation of all life, then it is likely a long, long time from now, as this planet has resilience and life will continue in one form or another!.

As for human existence, we will be here for a long time as well but will likely be relegated to controlled environments as the natural resources will be too harsh or depleted!. We will hopefully inhabit the stars by the next 100 years or so!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Eventually the sun will run out of fuel and become a red giant, which will consume us when the sun expands toward us!. But that time span is not measured in centuries but time spans much!. much greater!.
So I won't spent a bit of energy worrying about "what century" will bring the end of the world!.
