Yes!. My past has been one that i'm not proud of, but at the same time, i'm not ashamed of either!. Nor do I regret anything that I've been through!. My life changed when the state changed my name to a number!. Then I realized, that true happiness couldn't be found in the lifestyle I was living!. I would often pray and get no results!. Then it hit me, HE is not some fairy tale genie that blinks at my every wish!. I had to follow up, so many people say I pray and nothing comes from it!. Maybe because after the prayer, they go back to doing the same thing they've been doing and expecting different results!. That's called insanity!. I'm far from being a saint or a religious person!. But through the help of prayer and self help, I've learned to channel my emotions, actions, and feelings to a more positive direction!. I didn't mean to drag on, but I like the question and felt like sharing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I thought if I went to church and memorized Bible verses and sang worship songs I'd be a happy person!. But when you decide to work for Jesus your life actually gets harder, (people hate you and such), so I was kind of in for a surprise!. All that other stuff is just extra!. It won't make you 'happy'!.

Really I needed to WANT to work for him, which I am doing now!. Our time together is more personal!. I meditate on Him regularity!. I've learned a lot from Him, and it wasn't from doing all those traditional things!. It was- surprise- actually hanging out with Him! Funny how that works!.!.!. :DWww@QuestionHome@Com

Sadly it took a 5yr prison sentence in a really tough secure jail for me!. I was blessed to encounter a pen pal who introduced my broken spirit to meditation[non religious] and yoga!. In that peace of practise I sort off saw what could be, sure was not all flowers and light far from it but change came slowly!. I had to put some really awful shameful to rest and get honest with me for the 1st time at 40 odd years old!. Still working at it but free for 5yrs now!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes!. Before, I always prayed to God to make my life better!. But after months nothing happened!. I just got fed up and I realized you know what, if I want my life to be better I can't sit around and wait for something to happen!. I have to do it myself!.!. so I stopped putting my life in God's hands and realized maybe there is no God!. "Enlightenment" used to mean the rational study of the Original 7 Liberal Arts, among other things!.

Now it means the abandonment of that rational study for the mystic appreciation of faith in "karma," or something else equally as supernatural!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes , if you accept the idea that God has given you brain and common sense for the well being of you and society then you are likely to live peaceful
