This I understand helps to get down to the heart of a matter during a philosophical debate!. It is normal!. I for instance can ask - what is truth!? Now, this question is already suggestive of the fact that there is truth in existence that if not put as – does truth exists at all!? But yet again I would not know if something exists if I do not know what that thing is!. Then there are situations that require of things to analyzed using some sort of approach involving step-down questioning - the proper name of which I do not know but I am sure there is one somewhere – in order to get to a single simplest possible premise for inquiry!.

In most philosophical sense it can be said that each question is it own answer, first and foremost!. As soon as a question is phrased, put in word an pronounced it informs us of the existing of some matter of inquiry!. As for instance in the example I used above the question – what is truth, is already suggestive of the existence of something called truth, so that question – does truth exist, there would be a valid answer to the first question that obviously is a question too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well you only answer a question with a question when you know the answer and you know they can work it out on their own so technically their getting their solution and you've helped them by allowing them to work it out on their own!. but at the same token why ask a question in the first place!? if you know you could find out yourself!? annoying isnt it haha =)Www@QuestionHome@Com

It depends on the kind of question!. F ex an rhetorical question may include an answer!. !. And in Zen-Tradition, the "master" often answerer's in a kind of strange questions to break through the
superficial conscious of the person who may be caught by
the rational logical-system!. C!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You did receive an answer!. It may not be the information you sought, but you still received an answer!.
Example: You!. God please let me win the lottery
God: (silence)
You!. Did you win the lottery!? If no, God answered!.
His answer was no!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Straight thinking would mean No!.Because the question requires an answer and not a question!.

On the other hand, it does especially where thinking is required!.Where you are required to fill up the puzzle!.So a clue is given, which comes back to no direct answer given!.
Thanks fro askingWww@QuestionHome@Com

if you answer with a question then they answer your question with a question can't it go on forever!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

You have not answered the question as you are merely asking another question! To answer the question you would have to bring your thoughts to a conclusion and ANSWER!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think you may have answered it already, the underlying intention is 'think'!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Mmm!.!.not necessarily!. Sometimes you make your point and then ask a question within it and so it gets other people thinking so that there is debate!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
