Question: Ok, this may sound as a biased question!.!.!.!?
but since I've read way too often around here lately that 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder", is that a way of saying that a blind man can't appreciate beauty!?

I personally think the expression is biased in itself!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

LMAO !.!. nicely

I think the expression is referring to your mind's eye!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Beauty is also in the ear of the beholder!. A blind person (not necessarily a man) can appreciate the beauty of music, and as that person has no optical distractions, probably appreciates it even more than a sighted person!.

The expression is not biased, only incomplete!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The expression is biased, because the vast majority of people can see!. The expression is also biased toward physical attractiveness as beauty rather than inner beauty of the mind!. Of course a blind man can experience beauty in another's voice, in music, in touching, in taste, etc!. Sight is not the only sense in which beauty can be felt!.

Blind men can't appreciate beauty, because they haven't seen it!.!.!. Perhaps they can appreciate beautiful songs then the saying would go 'beauty is in the ear of the beholder!.'
If you want a more general saying, 'beauty is in the senses of the beholder'!.!.!. but the first one sounds better!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Obviously for a blind cannot see!. That's why the beauty of a thing depends really on what you see!. A thing may be beautiful to me but not to you!. It is the eyes that speaks wether a thing is beautiful or not!. Beauty indeed lies in the eyes pf the beholder!.

Thanks for asing!. Have a great day!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well it doesn't just have to be physical appearance!. A blind man might prefer the voice or personality of a particular individual!. Whereas someone else might be irritated by that voice!. We don't have to just see beauty but we can imagine it too!Www@QuestionHome@Com

lol I'm sure blind people can appreciate the beauty in things beyond our perception as their minds adapt to heighten it's awareness through other senses!.
So it's in the mind of the beholder!.
It is relative to the observer, there are only vague rules of thumb!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A blind person would be a far better judge of beauty then a sighted one!. They hear what a person says, and despite what you may think beauty come from within a human being!. The shell you call beauty fades but true inward beauty last forever!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

hmm i know what ur sayin but there are other types of beauty to appreciate!. a blind man can hear the beauty of a woman's voice, touch, smell!. also they can form an opinion if someone has inner beauty through personality etc!.!.!.!.!. not all beauty is visualWww@QuestionHome@Com

It is another way to say it is subjective and has nothing to do with sight!. Sightless may have a heighten sense of beauty in some areas!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, the blind cannot see beauty!. But they can see true beauty!. Being called beautifl by a blind person must be the ultimate compliment!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Why would you limit it to sight!? when we have touch, smell, hearing, feelings could you not have beauty in these areas too!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Beauty can be seen much better with eyes closed!.
Ears open, senses open, heart open and!.!.!. beauty is clearly seen!.
Eyes can be deceiving!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Would it be better to say beauty is in the hands of the beholder!? since both blind and non-blind people can touch!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think you right!. It's so insulting towards blind people!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Why dont you ask a blind man !? get it fron the horses mouth!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
