Question: Have you ever felt that even your most instinctive gestures fall into set patterns sometimes!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Yes, I think that certain movements or gestures are built in or instinctive, especially when you place a lot of people in the exact same situation (you can observe the similarities)!.

For example, I noticed that during prayer a lot of people will repeat a certain common motion or gesture unintentionally even though they were never taught to do so!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well birds instinctively fly south for the winter!. (Not in the southern hemisphere) Babies instinctively suckle, cats land on their feet!. A football player caught a baby dropping from a building, after so much ball catching he instinctively caught the falling object!. So instinct is learned behavior stored in our long term memory or we are born with it!. It exists because of set patterns!. Even our intuition forms a pattern over time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, sometimes a completely new one will suddenly appear, like yesterday, everytime I was asking a shop assistant a question, for some odd reason I waggled my finger like a worm at them!. My wife said it was strange, I said it was my questioning finger!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Again, agree with Regwah -instinctive gestures are learned as patterns, so it would be only natural for them to do so!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
