To study it is to understand how to make your thinking better, because without knowing the rules of it, you are basically blind!. The faculty of epistemology begins with the trauma of birth, which switches it on!. Metaphysics comes next as your tabula rasa mind tries to determine the general from the particular, i!.e!., to learn to abstract!. Then when you begin to interact with others on a conceptual level, you learn what is right and wrong in dealing with other people--ethics!. So to study it formally is to learn how you learned and validated what you learned--epistemology; and to learn whether or not your logic can be bettered, since of the 256 forms of syllogism in which your mind structures its thoughts, only 15 - 24 are "valid!." Can you isolate within your thinking those thoughts which are not "valid"!? Do you know the rules of "validity"!? No!?
