Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Progress depends on the recognition and classification of change but then requires a value judgment on the consequences of that change!.The definition is dependent on the judgment!.

Change is an objective phenomenon!.Something is either different from what it was before or it is not!.Whether it is "progress" is to a greater or lesser degree subjective depending on whether we think the outcome was a good thing!.

The changes can be qualitative or quantative!.In science and medicine we know "more"!.Few would argue that medical progress is not a "good thing"!. However progress in politics is a different matter!.It depends more on striving for predetermined goals rather than retrospective recognition that something is different!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Many think progression is getting more advanced!. Yet I have a different opinion!.
Growth without the negative effect of getting so advanced the masses of society cant keep up or the entering of a situation in which all of the consequences arent analyzed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

At the core, one could say all progress is just a temporal chain!. Sometimes, you must consider whether it is beneficial, but that's a whole different matter!. Progress is just development towards something, known or unknown!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
