Khalil Gibran was originally from Lebanon, but immigrated to America!.

If you haven't read it, get his book "The Prophet!." He has better books, but the Prophet seems to be the most popular!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Many may well know about this Lebanese, Christian poet who has influenced many and was very popular with the youth of the 1960s, however, as he died some time hence, it is doubtful that any one who actually knew him would be alive in the present time!.

edit: hes the lebanese american philosopher who has a memorial in washington and also a museum is based after him he died when he was in his 40s his most famous book was called the prophet : )Www@QuestionHome@Com
