Question: How can self criticism help us fit in and become better accepted by others !?

We gain from criticism only if we truly have a need for change and are willing to make that change!. I would listen to a 5 year old or 90 year old if they had some good criticism!. The truth is you will never be accepted by others, but who really cares!. John Wayne said it best, "Love your family, respect your friends, and the hell with the rest!"Www@QuestionHome@Com

self criticism is usually the best form of modesty!.!.!. and sometimes there's nothing more attractive for others than the modesty of a person!. I would practice it with moderation though, sometimes self criticism is a way to lower yourself towards the point of denying the very core of your being!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Self-criticism is a type of humility!. By recognizing faults in ourselves, we can try to correct them rather than waiting for someone else to pint them out for us (and often putting us into defensive positions)!. It is good to be honest (but not overly harsh) with oneself in order to be able to modify that behavior which needs correction without creating a poor self image!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

To be able to criticise yourself and admit when you are wrong makes you a more virtuous person to be around!. It also helps others to see that we are not "super human" and can all be wrong sometimes!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Self-criticism is like self-training for being able to handle the world!.

In the end we are our own judge, and if we are ok with ourselves then it becomes easier to find people who are ok with ourselves as well!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
