Being proud of feeling guilty is like an oxymoron; those who feel real guilt can not be proud of themselves, for if they are feeling pride, they are not truly feeling guilty!.

Those who take in pride in anything, including guilt, do not know the true meaning of guilt!. Those who take pride in their own enlightement, righteousness, or wisdom, are not enlightened, righteous, or wise!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I feel that guilt is one of the worst emotional experiences one can experience!. Proud should be the few that have never felt guilt before, if such a person exists!. In some cases however, to hold your head up high even in the depths of great regret, is a must!. Since the guilt we feel cannot be changed, it might not be a character flaw to take a proud stance and make a vow to do things better the second time around!. They may not be taking pride in what they have done wrong but in what they will do right!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That would depend what they were guilty of, but in general I'd think that their sense of pride is misplaced!. Guilt is not usually something to be proud of!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
