I am 36 (as is my husband) and I think we are only now getting to that point!. I don`t think others need to live as we do to live an authentic life but through some adversity we have found what we need for our spiritual fulfillment and feeling like we are meeting what we were created for!.

I started writing plays when I was eight!. I moved away from that under pressure from family and others that it was not a real endeavor!. It was only after seeing RENT on DVD and more importantly the special features documentary on the life of its playwright that I realized I still had a passion for the theatre inside me that hadn`t died and I still had time to realize the dream!. This was combined with some spiritual truths that came to my attention!.

It was similar with my husband!. He has been doing home renovation and restoration for eight years and now he wants to do it on a nonprofit basis as part of a national organization!. It is a huge risk but with his passion and incredible unwavering doubtlessness that this is his calling it is coming together faster than he ever imagined!.

Yes - at the moment it seems a bit like a happy drug - I was forced into it because I am multiple and have had a hard time having to find out what I am in a singtiple society!. For a long time I pretended to be just like others - but I was feared for being inconsistent - It was a relief to come out and be my-selves and admit the system!.

I have found my authenticity is bound up with admitting vulnerabilities and letting go of looking after other peoples vulnerabilities in a sort of self-sacrificing way!.

Life is a lot less overwhelming now and I let other people's dramas go over my head!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think everbody lives an 'authentic life'!. How can you be anyone other than yourself!?
People who are percieved to be 'fake' are authentic because the essence of their personality is 'fakeness' i!.e!. they care more about what other people think about them than about formulating thier own beliefs/opinions!.

Although it's kind of contradictory to say that somebody is 'genuinely fake'!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I am learning / starting to!.

Just recently actually!.

I learned that I was living for and doing things for other people around me, lying to people to try to protect them and not being completely honest with my needs / wants!.

I am starting to learn how to love who I am, be OK with who I am and trying to drop the ego!. There is no reason I should hide my true self if I honestly think I am cool :j
