Sarcasm has many definitions, most of which are negative!.
However, there are some mildly positive definitions, being humour and wit!.
The reason there are so many definitions for sarcasm, is because there are different methods in which sarcasm can be delivered!. different intentions by the deliverer!.
The use of humour to address a circumstance never goes to resolve, only to deflect, and so therefore is self defeating!.
Irony is a different thing altogether!.

Sharp ripostes, irony and dark sarcasm are only applied and used when communicating a point to an equally acerbic individual!. I would seldom apply such venom in passing to the good, godward and wholesome!.

Some can be horridly vicious and I am loathe to spectate whilst a god person is verbally assaulted by another!.

Irony is applied when we seek to make a glaringly obvious point to those indeterminate in the comprehension or understanding of a matter!. Sarcasm generally is frowned upon and considered by some as the lowest form of wit, although I adore such persons for their self effacing, if not deprecatory outlook on life!.

Nastiness is generally nasty and born of sinful nature and best avoided!.

The one man I still adore and admire is so malevolently witty and sarcastic as to render him an object of worship!. His subtlety requires study and is not always immediately discerned!.

Post conversations, whilst driving my car three days later it would literally dawn on me the meaning and implication of his remark!.!.!. life is similar!. The brains absorbs but does not always immediately acknowledge!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
