Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Self-scarificing love is the Law and Love itself is the energy; God is the source!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I believe there is life energy, or what Hindus call pran, which is the same as spiritual energy or occult energy and it creates the physical world, or you could say, as some do, that our world is a reflection of it!. It's not "physical energy" as in our world, such as radiant energy from our sun or electricity or magnatism!. As spiritual energy creates our world, it creates sub-gaseous states of air, or plasma, which is charged electrical matter throughout space!. When space expands ad-infinidum into a 5th diminsion, this charged plasma is created along with space simultaneously, and this has been going on and will go on forever!. Real energy is this energy of the other world in which we only get a physical representation of it on our plane in the form of electricity and plasma, but it nevertheless is being created all the time due to space forever expanding into what we can only desribe as a void or nothingness!.Www@QuestionHome@Com The Vedic scriptures of India state that the Supreme Lord is the supreme male person, but His Shakti (energy) is His female counterpart!. He has three main energies --Antaranga-His internal Spiritual energy, Bahiranga---His external energy from which the material world is manifested!. And Tatastha Shakti which lies between the two (internal and external)!. All the Jiva souls come from Tatastha Shakti (the marginal energy!.) They are one in quality with God but do not possess anywhere near the same quantity of attributes as God does!. Their size is one ten thousandth the size of the tip of a hair!. God is the supreme controller of all these energies!. The external energy is seperated from God but the Jiva souls are never separated from Him!. Theyr'e eternally related!.The soul is conscious but the material energy is not!. The soul is part of the superior energy whereas matter is inferior energy!. The female energy is a person who is the consort of the Lord!. In her form as Durga she maintains the 'prison house' of the material world by having the thankless task of keeping the Jiva souls bewildered!. She is also known as Mahamaya!. The energy is within a body only because of the presence of the soul!. The pran energy, allso known as 'ki' in Japan and'chi' in china, maintains the health of the body as long as the soul is present!. Having more or less energy in the body depends on how well one maintains the body and feeds it positive thoughts as well as healthy food!. Then the pranas are able to regulate the body properly!. We can see with the chinese healing method of acupuncture how the flowing lines of energy within they body block and cause disease and how acupunctue unblocks them!. In chinese martial arts also the energy from the solar plexus is used to achieve extrordinary power!. The earth is made up of many different species, all of which are embodied souls!. Man, over the ages, has learnt to use his intelligence to harness so many of the earth's energies for many purposes such as electricity and thousands of other things which I know nothing about!. I'm only interested in the source,from Whom all other inferior!. energies come!. In Bhagavad Gita 7!.14 the Lord spoke, " This divine energy of mine, consisting of the three modes of material nature (goodness, passion and ignorance) is difficult to overcome!. As for your main question, "What is energy!?": we can only explain it by analogy to our most basic feelings, which are our drives!. As all our drives can be traced back to one, the will to power, we can only explain energy as will to power!. The Creation, according to most mystics, was a manifested projection by God of a stepped-down energy known as Shabd [Hindi] or Word [Bible]!. All the many forms of energy in the Creation are levels of this Shabd, or Word!. Each form has its own vibrational identity and reality!. At times, after many thousands of years of existence, all these energies are withdrawn in what the East calls "dissolution", or at even greater intervals a "grand dissolution" occurs!. Wherein the many energy forms are withdrawn up to the Astral region [dissolution] or the Spiritual realm [grand dissolution] and part of the Creation remains dark for a period equal to the time they were in existence!. PeaceWww@QuestionHome@Com I had to jump in to tell you this is a great question; not one, unfortunately, that I think I'll be able to answer for you, but very thought provoking in the context you put it in!. I think if we can get this question answered, what is energy, we will have made a massive leap toward collective human enlightenment!. I'm a philosophy professor, and though I would never tell my students this of course, I get tired of regurgitating ancient philosophers' opinions regarding the nature of substance when contemporary evidence leads us to it being constituted from energy!. But aah, therein lies the rub, what is energy!? Exactly! I have no idea! LOL! You'll get a bunch of responses to this that will tell you it's matter, and that energy is manifested in various forms and in various states, etc, but those responses aren't telling you what it is!. That would be like me asking you who you are and you telling me what things you like, what your hobbies are, what you do for a living etc!. Philosophers such as Quine assert substance and energy had no origin, and that they've always been, and others such as Spinoza will tell you it must have had a source since "Bare nothing can no more produce something than it can be equal to three right angles," but neither, nor any I've read have offered proof satisfactory to the scrutiny of man!. There is always a possible other alternative!. Energy is; at least that much most people can agree on (with the exception of the 'Absolute Skeptics' who hold that nothing can be known for certain)!. We need to build from there!. As for my humble opinion: Energy is that which constitutes everything that exists, even the intangibles such as thought and freedom and God, and therefore, its source, is itself, and its end is at its own whim and will, and may or may not, according to its own will, ever have an end at all!. That really cuts to the heart of stuff like a Zen problem!. On planet earth the energy comes from that initial big bang of the Sun going supernova, if you believe that theory!. But that is simply a small part of a bigger system that we call universe and is mirrored down over!. Down to the level of cells & beyond and no doubt up over aswell!.
