Question: "Under peaceful conditions, the warlike man attacks himself!." What does this mean exactly !?
Does he mean an individual that has a mind that will never rest, because if it's not attacking someone else, that mind will attack it self !?

Or does he mean when the Americans have no one to fight with, they just bomb their own buildings/towers and go from there!.!. !?Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is human nature to be at war with something, to struggle to survive!. when life becomes to comfortable, our subconscious desires a challenge!. we have a need to hunt and kill just like any other beast!. after all were only human!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

My husband and I were actually just debating something like this a second ago!. We believe that it refers to basically people like drama queens!. You know the typical drama queen who stirs up tons of trouble (warlike man) and when there is no drama left to attack, they create their own (attacking themselves) with comments like!.!.!."am I too fat!?!"!.

I have a feeling that this is best explained in that type of situation!. Some people when they no longer have anything to attack/stir up they attack themselves via drinking or creating new problems!.

This can also be said of narcissists as well as drama queens!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It reminds me of a distant relative!. She and her husband fought constantly!. No matter what he said she'd disagree!. It was usually unpleasant to be around!. They had very little awareness of their behaviour and would flip back and forth on the sides they were arguing!. She always tried to appear like the martyr!. The husband died about two years ago!. You think she would have been happy now that the was no one to "hold her back from finding a happy life" (a frequent complaint)!. What happened!? She soon started in on everyone else!. It wasn't him, it was her nature to argue and be negative!. She'd phone, be pleasant, ask questions, and the minute she could latch onto a disagreement she was off the the races!. She missed the old dance with her husband and was always searching to start up again!
The point of the quote is that people of a certain temperament don't need a reason to be agressive or angry!. It is part of their nature!. There is nothing you can do to please them nor was it you that provoked them!. Sometimes you just have to see people for who they are and accept what you can't change!.
Thanks for the question!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Man's heart is an evil, wicked thing because it is selfish and proud and most are only concern with their self!.
Gen 6:5
And GOD saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every imagination of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually!.
Mat 12:35
A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things!. ( God puts Good deeds into man)
Mat 15:18
But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man!. ( Self Proclamed Wisdom)
1Sa 16:7
But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for [the LORD seeth] not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart!.
1Ki 8:39
Then hear you in heaven your dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart you know; (for you, [even] yours only, knows the hearts of all the children of men;)

So in answer to your question, yes man will treat himself badly when no one is his foe!. Unless he belongs to the prince of peace!. Jesus the Christ, son of the Living God and he will; then replace the evil, wicked heart over a life time with Good and rightness!. That we may be Children of God eternal!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

We have the potential to be drama queens and stir things up or do something self-destructive if we feel too at ease - a perfect existence is something we shouldn't be used to as animals!. The presence of our primal instincts means we can't handle a utopia just yet - the urge to fight for something, anything, is too great!.
Bring on evolution, baby!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think that it means, because he is a warlike man, he always has the need to war!. If it is during peaceful times, he must struggle within his self!. He probably is looking for ways to cause unrest in others!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
