With irrational advice you can scapegoat the person that gave you the advice!. When it is your reason, you have nobody to blame, but yourself!. An example would be asking out somebody you are attracted to!. If you do what you're friends say on approaching them and get rejected there are bad feelings, but you won't crushed!. If it happened with your reason, you would feel crushed!. This can be expanded beyond asking somebody out on a bad!.
