There's more to this than to most of your questions like this!. I believe if an individual has not received love during infancy, that individual is incapable of giving it in later life!. This has been clinically proven with a variety of animals, and observed in countless humans, unfortunately!. I don't know which is more important, but being loved is definitely first!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's more important to love because loving another instills a strong sense of life's purpose which can avert existential crisis (the complete loss of meaning)!.

However, if the meaning of loving another is not balanced with other core sources of meaning (activities and/or religious faith) then the loss of one's object of affection can be psychologically disastrous!.

Still, people take being loved for granted but can never completely ignore their own needy, hungry, aching heart!. Loving another makes life's journey more colorful and intense in a way that cannot be matched by any external stimulus like being loved!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
