I have a lot of crazy thoughts on that subject myself!.I have actually pondered on the question that there may be another universe simaler to ours outside of the circle, but is there another God in that universe, or is it all part of an infinite being!? See, our universe is sorta like a cell, in fact it has similar comparison parts, like the sun is the nucleus, and the planets that rotate kinda are like the protons and neutrons!. Just a thought that this universe could be just a cell in the living being that we call God!.And that there is no boundary to existence!. So there is infinite small, that all matter can be made smaller and there is no end, so that would mean that there also is an infinite larger and some how there is no end!. And that is infinity, kinda like a circle, some how the ends meet so they have no boundary's!.And that is the being that is God, and that's what we are a part of!. Just a thought!!!! Ya know so maybe there could be other "gods", Wikens believe that there is more than one, but Im not sure how I feel about that!. Hope that this could help you!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I believe that God is omnipresent, that is, He is everywhere, IN and OUTSIDE of the universe!.

Genesis 1:1
In the beginning created the heavens and the earth!.
John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God, He is in the beginning with God!.

Those biblical passege only showed that even before existence, God is already there, so, why can't He be outside of the universe too!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

By drawing the circle on a peice of paper, we are automatically making an error in our view of the universe!. The universe is infinite- it can't really be represented by a circle!. If you really want to keep the iluustration of the circle, I suppose one could say that God is both inside and outside the circle, but it would be more accurate to say that God IS the circle!. God is infinite, and so is the universe!. (Sorry if that's confusing)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm going to assume that the huge and unjustifiable assumption you have made (God exists) is true!.
I'll define 'universe' as: Everything that exists!.
God cannot exist outside of the universe because the predicates 'existence' and 'being in the universe' must be synonymous!. Therefore, if God is outside of the universe he will not exist!. And iff God exists he must be in the universe!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, of course, a part of all the finite and infinite that the known and unknown universe and micro universe has to offer!. Now, here is one that will bake the noodle!. Our universe, our 'big bang' created universe, ever expanding and picking up speed, it's birth exploding from one incredibly dense minute point of matter, as vast as it is, isn't the only one!. There is growing evidence to support the theory that there were multiple 'big bangs' and therefore there are multiple universes!. So !.!.!.!.not one circle, billions perhaps, and God out and in on all of it!. Fascinating isn't it!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Interesting question, several answers with several outlooks!.

If you assume that the universe is everything, then God can be limited and can not be limited at the same time, depending !.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.

But the real question should be asked differently, Is God everything,:

If he is, the answer is obvious!.

If he is not, then there may be no god, or may be several gods!.

The logic of thinking implies that the first answer is the more accurate than others, and hence, he should be outside as well as inside your circle!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, the universe isn't everything!. It may be infinite, even, without being everything!.

Look up the multiverse, friend!.

Even the multiverse probably exists within some other bounds (EVEN WHILE BEING INFINITE - WHOA!)!.

And that is probably inside something "bigger"

ad infinitum!.

Edit:
By the way, "me!."'s answer to the god-rock question is correct!. However, her/his reasoning is wrong!. Put simply, the question assumes that something a deity can't move has potential for existence!. I'd say it doesn't!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The way I see it is that God, or more accurately, the Divine Being or Infinite Intelligence, simply was, is and shall be!. Within it is the impulse to create and the result is the universe!. Because there was nothing outside of God, the universe could only come from and remain part of the whole, which is God!. So, everything, including us, is a part of, and made of, the substance of God!.

One term for this concept is panentheism!. See the following webpage for a discussion of this concept:

God is all things!.!. INCLUDING the Universe, including you, including me and including your dog scruffy too! =) There is no such thing as outside the universe, cause it is all of existance!. But if there was, that would be God too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, before creating the universe where was he!?

Try this, draw a circle on a piece of paper!. Are you IN the paper!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I totally Agree with DT!.!.!.

You assume that God exists!.!.

Okay so lets assume there is God!.!.

But What does God mean to you!?

For me , God its just a belief !.!. God is in our minds and so it is also a part of the universe!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Great question!. YES!. God is not constrained by time, space, or any of those pesky constraints we live by!. We live within them, but God can live outside of them!. How!? I have no idea!. I just know that He can!. :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes and yes, infinitely!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Everything is possible with God!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, peroid!Www@QuestionHome@Com

god is all that simpleWww@QuestionHome@Com

God is made by men!. Christian, Allah & Buddhism!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

one must remember that god spelled backwards is dogWww@QuestionHome@Com

this reminds me of that question "can god create a rock bigger than he can move!?"

I think there is a misconception with the theory that "god" can do anything he wants!. Yes, He can do anything he wants as long as it doesn't jeopardize his "god-ness"!.

No, he can't create a rock bigger than he can move because than that would mean he isn't god!. god can't sin, because that would mean he isn't "god" anymore!. get the picture!?

To answer your question, I suppose he could exist outside the universe if it didn't jeopardize his "god-ness"!. If he can still function as god outside the universe, then sure, why not!? why wouldn't he exist outside the univers!? But If it means it would affect him not acting in a "god" way, then no!. He couldn't exist outside the universe!.

{edit}

excuse me but I'm wondering how my reasoning can be wrong if its just a theory!? yours is a theory as well!. No one here knows the exact absolute truth to this question!. Are you just trying to say you disagree!? because that's different than just claiming that I am absolutely wrong!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is a question with no answer known to mankind!.

Why would you think that the circle would represent all of existence!. The universe is supposably infinite!. There is no inside or outside the circle!. Trying to understand things like this will only lead to more questions you can't answer!. I have been doing it since I can remember!. I always have searched for the scientific answer to everything!. I recently have came to the conclusion that we will never have the answers to the existence of life and the universe (only assumptions), so the only explaination would be that there is a god!. That there is someone who gave this all a beginning!. I have felt soo much better since I have started to believe in god and it has became a great way to deal with the troubles of life and has made me a happier person!. Though I don't believe in organized religion and having to go to a "temple" to worship god or donate to a church so someone can get a new car off your income!. Your temple should be your heart, mind and soul!. Not a cult following!. The stupid thing we must all realize is how you worship god doesn't matter!.!.!.!.!.!. such as messiahs and different books!. All these religions lead to the same "god"!.

And as for the existence of god is he inside your circle or outside it!. You must remember that circle is something you have created of the whereabouts of god, not him!. So this is something in your imagination!. One day you will get the chance to sit down with him wherever it may be, and he will explain everything!. But, as for now!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. wouldn't life be pretty dull if we knew everything!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have addressed this issue on a number of occasions in YA!.
I do not have a magical solution to this problem, but I may be able to give some ideas!.

This general problem is similar to the problem of getting a computer or logical thinker to understand the world!. Godel's Proof showed that logic can only take you so far and any logically consistent explanation of anything in the real world will be incomplete!. Or any description of a thing will leave some aspect that needs another question to explain it better!.

When it comes to questions of why or how something is you can always ask why your explanation is true or how it works!.

The problem of an ultimate cause or uncaused properties is often "solved" by saying God made everything and God always was or just is!. If we allow such reasoning we can bypass the God explanation and just say that things just are the way they are, and the universe just is, and needs no God to explain it!.

In Godel's Proof computers could never fully understand stuff because someone could ask it a question they had a "just is" answer to!. This problem of selecting a where to stop explaining things or what aspect you will model in you explanations or computer program is sometimes referred in computing circles as the "frames problem"!.

When we draw a frame around what we look at, we leave unanswered the areas outside the frame!.

In the case of circular arguments such as the beginning of time is the end of time, we still can ask "where did the time loop come from!?" or "what is outside of the loop!?"!.

Answering all causal questions with God begs the question of where did God come from, and if God always was why did God ha ppen and not something else!. If the answer is blind chance then Chance might be the ultimate cause!. If that is the case what casued chance!? The problem is we can always ask another question and that in effect was what Godel's Proof and the Frames Problem show!.

The best explanation I can come up with is that initially before the first universe existed there was an ultimate chaos or non-existence where no forms existed!. By pure fluke something (or things) came into existence which was able to grow or evolve!. If we limit such things of interest to minds/agents capable of awareness or objects that minds can experience or interact with, we might put the label of God to the initial person which caused our existence to happen!.

Some details are of course missing in any explanation!.The general mechanics of how total chaos such as that seen at the quantum level can lead to the predictable laws of Newtonian physics are easily explained!.

Part of this explanation is that evolutionary processes would almost invariably lead to the evolution of Godlike intelligences!. Smolin's Baby Universes model for instance supports the idea that our entire universe is a single integrated evolved organism of vast intelligence!.

By most definitions Our Cosmos or the tings that made it would be considered to God or gods!.

Read The Cosmic Landscape for more explanations of non fundy religious treatments of intelligent design!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
