Question: The Most Asked Question!?
Where do we go when we die!? I'm worried that when I die, they'll be an endless pit of nothingness!. And our lives were nothing more than forgotten!. Is it wrong to wonder!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
I believe only part of us die; our physical form that is, our conscious will remain and start a new life: Life after death, etc!.

Christians believe when people die they go to either heaven or hell!. Buddhists believe we reincarnate!. Atheists believe we simply cease to exist!. They are all form of 'after-life' except atheistic perspective on this matter!. Scientifically speaking, i would have to go with atheists, but my instincts tell me to go with buddhists!.

The legend of life after death 'theory' has been with us for a very long period of time!. Ancient chinese people believed in life after death and so are some people in modern days!. The problem here is that, there is no evidence of life after death or soul!. So many people simply dismiss the concept!. I believe our science level is still an infant age, and i believe in limitless possibilities, and i think we shouldnt be arrogant on this matter!. The history of life after death concept was very long, and i do not think we should take this lightly!. A lot of cases supporting this matter was reported all around the world, very young babies who are not capable of making up stories talking about WW2, talking about their past lives articulately, etc!.

Same goes with heaven and hell thing also!. Near death experiences; some people who had nde claim that they have seen heaven & hell!. A lot of atheists refuse to believe and say its the drugs!. Yes drugs can make people hallucinate about fire and people, monsters, etc to be specific but the image being matched with either hell & heaven may mean something, plus all people hallucinate about the same thing!? Drugs have the same effect, but when it comes to hallucinations it is another story!. nde patients having same 'kind' of nde experiences are telling us something, but i could be wrong!. Not to mention some people actually 'died' for an hour and came back claiming they saw god, pretty much crossed over, etc!. But remember that this could be lie!.

ill approach this matter in 'scientific perspective'!.

I came up with this conclusion: In order for after life thing to be true, soul must exist, because after life thing is purely a transfer of soul!.

also, in order for this after life thing to work, soul must be immortal; a form of energy!. First law of thermodynamics states that energy cannot be created nor destroyed, if soul is an energy, its indeed immortal!. To me, life after death seems plausible, i believe soul exists, i think it is only us that cannot comprehend this soul thing exactly!. String theory suggests 11 dimensions, and we can barely comprehend 4!. Maybe its in the 7 other 'realm' which we cannot comprehend!.

In conclusion we can never be sure on this matter, we can only be sure when we are 'dead'!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

More definitely you are specifically scared of endless boredom in endless blackness!. don't worry you can't process the thoughts to get bored without a brain, and you can't move around in an endless space without a physical body both the brain and the body are left behind!.

We do not know what goes on after but we can know by deduction you will not suffer the fate you fear!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, this concern about

'Not to be here,
Not to be anywhere,
And soon; nothing more terrible, nothing more true!.

This is a special way of being afraid
No trick dispels!.'

This concern is not wrong, it has been the basis of great art!.

For example here is the rest of the poem that those lines come from!. You share the same worry!. It is by Phillip Larkin
(Larkin was the Poet Laureate of England)

Here it is:

Aubade

I work all day, and get half-drunk at night!.
Waking at four to soundless dark, I stare!.
In time the curtain-edges will grow light!.
Till then I see what's really always there:
Unresting death, a whole day nearer now,
Making all thought impossible but how
And where and when I shall myself die!.
Arid interrogation: yet the dread
Of dying, and being dead,
Flashes afresh to hold and horrify!.
The mind blanks at the glare!. Not in remorse
- The good not done, the love not given, time
Torn off unused - nor wretchedly because
An only life can take so long to climb
Clear of its wrong beginnings, and may never;
But at the total emptiness for ever,
The sure extinction that we travel to
And shall be lost in always!. Not to be here,
Not to be anywhere,
And soon; nothing more terrible, nothing more true!.

This is a special way of being afraid
No trick dispels!. Religion used to try,
That vast, moth-eaten musical brocade
Created to pretend we never die,
And specious stuff that says No rational being
Can fear a thing it will not feel, not seeing
That this is what we fear - no sight, no sound,
No touch or taste or smell, nothing to think with,
Nothing to love or link with,
The anasthetic from which none come round!.

And so it stays just on the edge of vision,
A small, unfocused blur, a standing chill
That slows each impulse down to indecision!.
Most things may never happen: this one will,
And realisation of it rages out
In furnace-fear when we are caught without
People or drink!. Courage is no good:
It means not scaring others!. Being brave
Lets no one off the grave!.
Death is no different whined at than withstood!.

Slowly light strengthens, and the room takes shape!.
It stands plain as a wardrobe, what we know,
Have always known, know that we can't escape,
Yet can't accept!. One side will have to go!.
Meanwhile telephones crouch, getting ready to ring
In locked-up offices, and all the uncaring
Intricate rented world begins to rouse!.
The sky is white as clay, with no sun!.
Work has to be done!.
Postmen like doctors go from house to house!.

it is a serious question and hence a very serious answer!.----read it carefully---
when we die ,it is decided in a fraction of the second just a sec!. before where we are to go for a new birth- and it is decided in our brain only--no where else!.it is decided by our KARMAN SHAREER and TEJAS SHAREER only our karman shareer has our balance of all the births in our brain on very very tiny cells about a billions--trillions cells ,depending on the no of life we have lived!. just as we rome in so many countires in the world, similarly,we rome in 84 lakhs(one lakhmeans 100,000) type of births!.you are never alone --or doing nothing!.you are always busy in taking births and dying till you get salvation ( mukti from the cycle of birth anf death!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, it depends on your religion, I suppose!. In my opinion, if you've done what the Bible commands, then you go to heaven!. But, I even have my doubts about that sometimes!. None of us will really know the truth until it's too late!. But, I think that there HAS to be something after death!. We can't just end up in nothingness!. We'll never know, but we can only pray that it'll be better than this earth!. It is never wrong to wonder, infact, I'd encourage people to think about it for a while, just to see where they stand in life!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I enjoyed all the answers, however I want to respond to your thoughts on evolution and God!. God is all powerful and He chose evolution !.The Bible clearly states that evolution is how it all started!. If not evolution then why not one boom and we are all here, we are all the same never changing!. However as the bible says:
Day 1: creation of light and its separation from darkness!.
Day 2: separation of the sky and oceans!.
Day 3: separation of land from the oceans; spreading of plants and grass and trees across the land!.
Day 4: Creation of the sun, moon, and stars!.
Day 5: Creation of sea animals and birds!.
Day 6: Creation of the land animals!. Creation of humanity, "someone like ourselves" (Living Bible)!.
Day 7: God rested!. Followers of the Documentary Hypothesis believe this to have been a later addition, placed there to give theological justification for the Sabbath (Saturday as a day of rest)!.

Not all done in an instant, it evolved!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I know that I will go to heavan with my family and friends!. This will be a place like no other!. It will be the best place to be!. I am in no rush to die but when that day comes it will be a glorious day!. My grandma just past away and I was so excited for her; she will be with my grandpa and the rest of her family!. I know that she is have the best time of her "life"!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Here's the way I see it:

If there's an afterlife, great, hopefully it's not hellfire or anything like that (seems rather unlikely)

and if there's not, you'll no longer exist and therefore won't have any idea there is no afterlife and you're permanently dead!.

Sounds like a win-win situation to me!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I just answered a similar question to this one!.

I think once you realize that your mind is an unprovable entity on this earth, much as the soul is in its religious definition and context!. Then you might begin to wonder what is the mind and the intelligence that man has with it!. is made up!? Why!? The mind can grasp concepts from men that are thousands of years old and yet speak to us today!? We can read books written by authors written decades or hundreds of years later and understand their meaning!. Meaning and definition are not real things but are a result of what is painted by the author for the mind to imagine and see!.

When you see this possibility you realize that man is more than just his physical existence!. We know that surely because we have memories of friends and places that may no longer exist on this earth!. Yet for us they are realize because our minds can think it so!.

Personally I do believe in a heaven or hell!. And that nothingness is not an option for any human beings!. Life is judged by who you are what you did for your fellow man!. And that is the right judgment!.

Personal opinion on something we all think about from time to time!. And yes it should be the most asked question!. It is not wrong to wonder about!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

What is the meaning of life!?
If a tree falls in a forest and no one's there to hear it, does it make a sound!?

That's the top 2 questions that everyone should sought to boycott!.

There's no point in scaring yourself silly with question no one has the answers to!. What matters, right here, right now, is what you do with this life!. If you'd lived a good life, what else have you to fear!? What else is there to regret!? Live for the moment, friend!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think when you die, it's just like sleeping for a very long time, eventually waking up as somebody else, with your other self completely forgotten!.

I don't think there is anything when you die, just sleep!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

we don't 'go' anywhere but back to nature - trust me, the idea that we're each that important in the grand scheme of things - is absurd!. it will be an endless pit of nothingness but we won't know it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

In this form, unfortunately the question I keep seeing is: what came first, the chicken or the egg!?

And then in the same breath almost: What is the meaning of life!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's not wrong to wonder!. It's human nature to ponder these types of questions!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
