Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Some questions can't be answered with just a yes or no!. There's usually a shade of gray in there somewhere!.Www@QuestionHome@Com It is because they are aware that you have your own assumptions!. Saying "Yes" may give you a different idea to what the truth is!. A simple example is a married man who just got home from a business meeting which has been held in a bar!. His wife then asked him if he just came from a bar (and without knowledge of the truth)!. The wife may have an assumption that her husband may have went in a bar because he is unfaithful to her!. The husband, knowing his wife assumes he went in a bar because of unfaithfulness, would respond with either a "Yes, because!.!.!." or a "No!. Period!." He could say 'yes' followed by additional details like he went in a bar because it is where their meeting is held!. The outcome is letting his wife know he is faithful to her!. He could also say a simple 'no' to achieve the same outcome, which is to let his wife know he isn't cheating on her!. However, the wife could also have assumed that her husband went on a bar because of a business meeting, which is the truth!. But the husband, thinking his wife assumes he went on a bar because of being unfaithful, might still choose to say "Yes" backed up with explanation to prove he didn't go there for being unfaithful, instead of simply saying "Yes!. Period!." That's then when the wife asks herself "I know he went there because of a business meeting!. Why can't he just say 'yes' instead of explaining!?" Now, consider with it several other possible assumptions in a single question, the person might (indirectly) defend himself from every possible assumption he thinks you assume!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Because of everyone is different!.!.!.!.but wait I thought we were all equal!.!.!.not to say anyone is better just different not worse!.!.!.!.it was confusing growing up!. By the way I am one of the people that can just answer yes or no!. The look you get on some peoples faces is amazing!. Most people seem to want more when I just say yes or no!. I would recommend not talking to anyone ever again if it bothers you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com because their mind is full of stuff, they first need to cut through the jungle, or maybe they like to hear themselves speak and offer their wisdom to you!? :-) a simple yes doesn't give enough time and attention for their valuable opinions!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com If your question requires a simple answer, then you already have an answer in mind!. But if you're not predetermining the scope of a possible answer, then its length is uncontainable by the form of the question!.Www@QuestionHome@Com To me i would think they are just trying to get the points!. Or they are just trying to B!.S the question becasue they are unsure about the question!. Othere then that i am unsure lol!. Good luck with the question Have a blessed dayWww@QuestionHome@Com see i think i really stems from eastern philosophy back in the days when the mandrakes conquered the!.!.!. lol im sorry i couldn't resist!. I get like a three page paper to my questions sometimes!. No disrespect but i really dont like reading tht much!.Www@QuestionHome@Com i've asked many questions in my short 15 years!. if you tell them, 'yes or no' theyll still try to give you a long answer, but you can walk away once they've said yes or no, instead of waiting around for oneWww@QuestionHome@Com Because a lot of people don't want to see the pure truth!. They will answer only for themselves, they will satisfy theyr ego!. It's all a dominance war!. That's society!.Www@QuestionHome@Com because maybe people may feel they need to back up there "yes" or "no", or maybe they have feelings they'd like to express that surround the "yes" or "no"Www@QuestionHome@Com Because the straightest answer to a simple question is a complicated curve in space-time philosophy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Because they are nervous or trying to avoid getting caught or avoid an argument!.Www@QuestionHome@Com it depends partly on the question and partly on the answererWww@QuestionHome@Com They are very maeipulative and want you to be swayed toward them!. Think of hem as a polliticianWww@QuestionHome@Com This usually shows that the they are not sure of yes or no or in what they are saying!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Many people (yours truly included) sometimes "feel" a need to explain our "yes" or "no"!. Oops! There I go!Www@QuestionHome@Com Usually if the choice is between "yes" or "no" I would say !. !. !. maybeWww@QuestionHome@Com Maybe they don't like the person asking!.Www@QuestionHome@Com i guess they don't want to be rudeWww@QuestionHome@Com |
