Question: A matter of consequences!?
Yeah me again!!

Is what you do or don't do in life a matter of "potential" consequences!?

Lets face it, would "we" not all do a lot of things "we" don't do now if "we" thought "we'd" get away with it and there were no "bad" consequences to come!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sure!. That's no brainer, all little kids like being bad!. But!.!.!.what separates the adults from the grown up 'kids' is the ability to know right from wrong, fact from fiction!. And to feel morally obligated to oneself, if not society, to behave accordingly!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Do we have control over all happenings !? NO !.
Anything we do it with some desire or motive - when it turns according to our desire , we feel good about it !. When it turned opposite to our desire , we consider bad about it !. We may say it is fate or luck or mistakes of ours or mistake of someone else!.
The events and circumstances becomes consequences !. If try to conduct INTEROSPECTION & RETROSPECTIONS about all happenings , we may examine the results !. How many turned according to our desires and how many against it !. We may see that when the sequence of unhappenings is recurring we feel fraustrated !.

If we perform and forget about the consequences , simplly thinking that , it is destined to be occured and I am only a spectator , there are no incidences and liking or unlikings !.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Of course - tha'ts what determines all of our behavior, no!? What we estimate the consequences will be!. And we are deterred not only by Consequences others might hit us with, but also internal negative consequences, don't you think!? Like, we might hold off being mean to someone because we would feel bad if we hurt their feelings - or we might engage someone who wanted to chat because to ignore them would be rude and leave them with an undeserved bruise!.

Not only that, but when you think it through, since our emotional state is what agitates us to take ANY action, then by implication, it is upon our emotional state that we expect our actions to act!

Yes you heard it first here!.

This means that all things in our consideration – things that we choose to do and the things that we don’t - have consequences!. As if I would not do something because of the fear of some consequences then the consequences are already in our knowledge made up of certain anticipations, expectations or apprehensions of our experience!.

This is the fact that whenever we want to do something, first of all, we rehearse that in our head by visualising, by thinking through or through planning!. This helps us anticipate the consequences better!. The fact is that we are highly consequential in the mind!. All our experiential learning is consequentially based, as our knowledge is entirely comprised of the learning from our past experiences - we are the consequence of our own past in our person!.

Then if we choose not to do something we draw upon our past experiences and remind ourselves of some consequences, but if we choose to do some things after all then we create room for new realities for the mind and anticipate entirely new consequences!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yup!

Although I would love to sit and say that I don't do certain things because of my deep-seated altruistic nature, the truth is I'm not willing to give up my marriage to screw another guy!. I'm not willing to be unemployable because I smoke a joint!. I can't afford a ticket so I stop completely at stop signs!.

Oh hell yes, it is all about the consequences!Www@QuestionHome@Com

potential risk, compared to potential benefit
