if I remember well, it wasn't really a comparison but a hermeneutics of the way those paintings are meant to impress the viewer!.!.!.
he analyzed Van Gogh from two perspectives!.!.!. one in which those poor shoes painted by Van Gogh would lead to an Utopian realm of the senses, to an explosion of colors that enriches sight, whilst the second one is to re-create the life of those shoes, the life that was stolen from them somehow!.!.!.
