Question: Would you ever have the audacity to ask someone:!?
why do you value openmindedness only when the mind is opened to your views!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
No because it only serves to close minds!. I find it far better to keep my peace and avoid conflict!. If I feel the need to defend my views by going on the attack then I see that I am not as secure in my own views as I would think!.

How others view my belief base is really of no consequence to me because I don't try to impose those views on others!. If someone asks me why I am not open-minded I can reply that I believe I am!. Open-mindedness is allowing others to be as open-minded as they want not only when it corresponds with our beliefs!. It seems harder when we are not extended the same courtesies that we ourselves extend to others but we were all born as unique beings and must ask if we are content to live someone else's truth or follow our own!. Agreeing to disagree is sometimes as close as we can really get, and even then its only us who have to agree!.

Passive resistance has more merit in my view then engaging in debate!. After all there is a saying that goes " When you argue with an idiot, you gain nothing except two idiots arguing!.

Shalama and Blessings Haanakari,

It is good being open minded to an extent, this is because new ideas and thoughts can creep in maybe lead to a new negative change in your behaviour and mentality!. The good thing about being open minded is that it has some productivity and do has a positive impact!.

Imagine open mindedness as when a 100 people who have come to a common agreement!. Think that they all agree with each other, even with some of their views differ!. They are all openminded because they understand each other, accept each other and tolerate each other!.

also, I could say that the mind is always open, but the spirit isnt!. So it is easier to get at someone through their behaviour and mentality rather then them spiritually!. Besides that the mentality of a person, when damaged leads a person to appear spiritually worn out!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You know I've wanted to ask people that a lot lately!?

It's like some people are so close-minded about other opinions, but they insist that they are open minded!. They view the world in black in white and it really, really annoys me!.!.!.I think i will ask someone that tomorrow!. It doesn't take audacity all the time!. I'll just speak in a light tone with an air of indifference!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes I would!.
However, my mind has been opened to thousands of things and in every mind you have to open the door to them!. The trick is to be able to know when to close the door on some of the things you've opened your mind to!.
It's that or let it all take you down the godforsaken road to insanity!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Of course!. Being openminded means at least listening to what the other person has to say instead of cutting them off with rants and shouts of what you believe to be true!.

After listening, you don't have to agree with the other point of view but at least you listened to it and hopefully considered it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

the only thing that comes into my mind here is that everybody is different and people need to learn that in order to realise that just because they like something doesn't mean that everybody else likes it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I say if my mind was open 360 my brain would fall out!.

Calling someone closed minded is the argument of the reprobate!. "I have no values, so how dare you have any," it says!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No!.!.!.!.because it's just a 'roundabout way of saying/asking:

"Why do you only value opinions and ideas identical to your own!?"
It's trite!.!.!.!.and too obvious!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Fearlessness shows I am something and the questioner gets doubt about the decision!.
In no way the subordinate is inferior or incompatibleWww@QuestionHome@Com

often I have put forth such comments and questions before people -- I am quiet blunt so its not so unusual to me to bring out whatever I have in my mind without any hesitations at allWww@QuestionHome@Com

We say that we are open minded, and if the other's view does not fit into our line of thinking we do away with him,it is hypocracy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Asking that question to such people is pointless, one need not waste ones audacity for it!Www@QuestionHome@Com

all reasonableness (in my estimation of things) stems from others willingness to see things my way!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

As I would be accusing the one addressed of hypocracy,
only if I was bigger than he!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

actually, i did it just the other day; but not in so many words!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sure, why not!? It is only a question!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
