I think that people with similar interests, goals and, as you ask- 'likes', gravitate toward one another and tend to stay together if for no other reason that they are both going to the same places because of shared interest!.

Some aspects of personality demand an opposite in order to thrive, however!. A controlling person (for example) is more compatible with a person who feels secure in a controlled situation!. Two controlling people would be locking horns all the time no matter what the shared interests!.

So I think there are two facets to the answer: one being the interests, likes/dislikes, and goals where two people should be alike; and the personality of a person, which seems better in a relationship with someone of a more opposite nature!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

it depends on the nature of the reason where friendship and love is conserned yes,if it is for other reasons unfortunatly vunerablity and gullability even innocence can be attracted by the not so like minded types!.In some cases opposites can attract too the appeal being in the unknown and the extreme differences!.Its all what ever floats the boat of the individual!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't think so!. After all like is just an adjective we use to express our feelings towards persons, places and things!. But it does not easily follow that because we like those things that they are attracted to us or for that matter us to them, for our likes and dislikes change so often!.
