I think what perpetuates the most evil in the world is ignorance!. That the masses of men choose to remain in utter ignorance and then blindly, willingly follow some leader or another that did all the thinking for them, is why that leader was able to succeed!. On a large scale, it's our own inability and our own fear of actually understanding ourselves and our world that allows for so much evil in the world!. After all, what could Hitler and Stalin have accomplished on their own!? They would have been nothing if not for the ignorance of man!.

When judging and trying to understand another man I find that insecurity leads to hate and fear, which then leads to that person committing evil acts!. Killers are not whole people, they do not have a functioning healthy, self esteem!. It's the absence and denial of such that creates evil!.

So the root of all evil is self abnegation!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Just as your question implies evil is a matter of opinion, just as morals!. As Christians believe evil is the lack of good!.

I think it goes a bit further than that!. Evil can be selfishness, it can be killing without a just cause!. There are so many possible acts that can be classified as evil!.

But some acts considered evil others may see as a correct or necessary!. Just as Hitler believed he was right in mass genocide!. It matters from what your point of view is!.

I personally think evil is having intent to make others lives more miserable!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

To turn ones back on the rational nature of human beings!.
We have the capacity to work towards a solution to any problems we may encounter but if we were to use the virtue of our powers of cognitive reason that is the result of our inherent rational quality!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
