Question: End of World!?

I saw this documentery that the end of the world will happen in 2012 since there is this Indiana calander and this book in chinease that both say it!. DO you believe in the end and why!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

everything material that exists can't possibly exist forever, at least from a scientific point of view!. all matter eventually breaks down!. as for 2012, i don't think that's true, but then again you never know what will happen in the future!. regardless, you shouldn't worry about stuff like that!. just live your life the best way you know how!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't believe in the end of the World, assuming 'world' here means 'Earth'!. I do, however, believe that there will one day be a giant socio-economical collapse that will lead to the destruction of society as we know it, and possibly the destruction of most to all humans!. When it will happen!? I don't know!. I am starting to err on the side of sooner rather then later though, seeing the state we are all in today!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Almost every religious book got something in at that causes some people to think its all over!. Some in Christendom thought it was all over at the Millennium!. That was 1,000 AD!.

Then there was 2,000 AD!. Some people went inside protected bunkers!. Remember Y2K when all computers and machines and the world was supposed to stop working!?

Then, in old times, when people saw comets they thought it was a sign of end of times!.

Then the bubonic plaque in Europe in the Middle Ages caused people to think that, not knowing it was the rats!. If they kept cats everything would have been cool!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Do you mean the end of all human life on earth or the total destruction of the earth!? Or a third choice!. the end of the entire know universe!?

People have been predicting the end of the earth as long as there have been people!. There are many predictions for an end to the world and all of mankind!. Most individual prophets seem to have guessed thorough the ages that the earth would end within their lifetimes!. Seems to be a psychological need to for it to happen to them to give them more relevance!.

I believe the 2012 you are referring to is from a Mayan prophecy!. They had a very accurate calendar, more accurate than the European one used at the time!. Even with their keen astronomical observations I do not think that this actually translates into any real ability to predict the worlds end!.

Many religions predict and end to the world and some even give a date!. I believe a Hindu calendar that is due to end in a few more million years, most others call for signs that are directly tied to human events that will foretell it!.

Science says that the sun will turn to a red giant is several billion years before it goes cold!.
Some say if there is enough matter in the universe that it will in time (50+billion year) stop expanding and from the force of gravity contract back into a singularity!.
Or war or some future weapon might kill us all much sooner!.

The Mayan Calendar also states this yet most of us are driven in our belief of the apocolypse by our religious denomination!. I do believe in the end of the world yet when it will happen and what causes it, well, I will leave that to God andlive my life in the knowledge that when it comes, it will be as it is supposed to be!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i dont believe it!.!.!.the mayan calendar doesnt say it the end of the world it says that there will be a new beginning in 2012!. what i think we have to worry about is the gas problem!.!.!.eventually the prices are going to be SOOOO high and people wont be able to afford it and after that gas is nly gonna run out!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Then, the world was supposed to end in 2000, (oops no it's 2001)!.
We're still here!.
That 2012 date is just the end of a calendar period!.
The indians themselves calculated the times for
eclipses beyond the date!.

I don't think the world is going to end in 2012!. One theory I do find compelling!.!.!. though I'm not entirely sure I'm on board is that 2012 is the end of the world as we know it!. Specifically that 2012 is when Earth hits critical mass in birthing a new open loving free consciousness!. Which does not mean we'd all be holding hands on Jan1, 2012 but that that's when the world as we know it has finally become painful enough that the critical mass of people seeing a better way happens!. I think it's a lovely idea!. It may not be true!.!.!. but it would be sweet if it were!.

to me the end of the world is just the end of they world as we no it if you go back in history you will see all the changes and if you brought someone back they would think they were in an other world that's what i thinkWww@QuestionHome@Com
