We thirst for knowledge because we have questions!. The great search for answers will never come to an end, because answers only lead to more questions!. Knowledge cannot explain everything--we are temporal and spacial beings, who do not share a single mind!. We could never learn/know/understand everything (for example, "Do you know what went through Abraham Lincoln's mind six hours before he was assassinated!?)!. Heck, people still dispute what Jesus Christ looked like!. We can only know so much, but what we do know helps us to progress!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Not all people thirst for knowledge!. In fact, most live in a rather automated fashion!. What happens is that we more easily get to know about people who know much about any particular topic (a Physics genius, a musician, a corrupt politician, not necessarily all good people, but sometimes yes)!. It is unlikely for a person to get to know much about anything without curiosity, because learning is hard work!. That is why, everything we massively hear of comes from people who thirst for knowledge!.
The search "may" only stop if at a time, our environment makes very unstable for us to live being curious!. For example, if there's a nuclear catastrophe in the surface and we have to all live hidden underground!. Curious people will sooner or later poke out!. There can be many simpler scenarios for that!. I don't think such thing will actually be enough anyway!.!.!. we will continue to be curious, human kind!.

Knowledge is knowing yourself as being God, and God is always searching for Himself, even though on another plane he does know!. We thrist for knowledge because from the beginning of time and your existence, God, as you, is trying to know Himself!.
