traditionally, the word ignorance has a more negative connotation than innocence!. they both mean to be uninformed, or have a lack of knowledge about the world!. the reason why innocence isn't as negative is because someone who is innocent does not know any better!. they do not see that they are being ignorant because they have been sheltered up until this point, and have yet to be exposed to life!. it is not their fault for being ignorant!. when someone is blatantly ignorant, it is usually self imposed and of their own doing!. an ignorant person has seen the world, and they know what it's all about, but they voluntarily choose which parts of the world they like and disregard everything else simply because they'd rather pretend it is not there!.
ignorance and innocence go hand in hand, but they are not the same!.
this quote i found just about sums it up: "one has yet to learn, while the other will never learn!."Www@QuestionHome@Com

Being ignorant is not being aware of things, not having knowledge about certain things!.
