Free will is involved in everything we do - but love is based on chemistry as much as intellect, so some of our responses are purely biological - bypassing rational thought!. Love is an emotion!. You cannot control emotions!. Free will becomes a factor when you act on your emotions!.

love is an emotion which can be related to both free will and fate!. emotion is something that happens to us however if we take control of our minds via the notion of free will we can effect our own emotional states therefore being able to affect who we fall in love with!. that said though without that control emotion is something that controls the individual therefore love would be an act of "fate" or as you put it something that just happens to us!. really it all comes down to your perception of reality and whether or not you believe yourself capable of choosing who you love correctly!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is something that just happens but we set up the environment that allows it to happen, and dertermines how it happens and with who!.

There are many rules that apply to who we will more likely fall for and when and where!.

We can however use our free will to think on the good points of a person and put ourselves in a frame of mind that allows us to fall for someone!.

Falling in love is like cars crashing on roads!. It may not be something we chose to do but the choices we make leading to the event may be ones we are responsible for!.

So in other words you wanna know how do you know when you are in love with someone!?!?
I can tell that from my life, and if you want you can draw 'inspiration' from here!.
I never believed in 'falling in love'!.
Next, within the context it is about in love with the opposite sex and so I can try and define that!.
The first question I tried to answer to myself was; am I of age at 14 to be in love with someone!?And this love of mine meant for good, menaing for life!.No, hip-hopping here!.
My answer was, no to myself!. As I was just begining to giggle and laugh at about every silly things in life and to be wound up with such serious matters was not the 'in thing' for me!.
In my set of principles, my love would start and end the day I died!. If anyone can understand the meaning of this one, go ahead and unravel for yourself!. I've been in love (am in love, as a matter of fact) and I don't recall ever having a choice in the matter!. I've tried very hard NOT to fall in love at least once!. Didn't work!.
