A more scrupulous translation of Exodus 20:13 is "thou shalt not COMMIT MURDER"!. As you see in the rest of that very book, killing is not only sanctioned by God, it is DEMANDED as the punishment for certain things!.

In particular, there is Exodus 21:22-25!. To quote, "When men strive together, and hurt a woman with child, so that there is miscarriage, and yet no harm follows, the one who hurt her shall be fined according as the woman's husband shall lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine!. If any harm follows, then you shall give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe!."

Now read that very closely!. If a miscarriage occurs, the punishment is a fine!. Money!. If the pregnant mother dies, only then is the punishment to be death!. There is no clearer example than this to be found in the entirety of the Bible: compared to the life of an adult, the life of an unborn child is of very little value!.

To that we could add a number of passages (Ecclesiates 6:3-5 come to mind) where people say that it is better to be unborn than to live a life of suffering or wickedness!. BETTER!. Thus, not only is the ending of a pregnancy not equivalent to murder, it is a desirable thing to do in certain circumstances!.

Those who try to use the Bible to support arguments against abortion really haven't much of a leg to stand on!. I sometimes wonder if they've even read the thing!. Heh!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

In my opinion, if the child cannot survive by itself outside of the womb, then it's not killing!. Killing, to me, is extinguishing life that can thrive on its own!. Abortion that takes place after the 6th month of pregnancy is killing because the baby can usually survive without the mother!. theres a lot of different opinions on this!. some people think its not killing since the baby is not formed into a baby at the time of the abortion!. i think it is!.!.!.!.i think people should at least give the baby a chance at life and put it up for adoption if they dont want it!. there are soo many people out there who want children but cannot have them!. if you are careless enough to get pregnant dont take it out on the baby!. i think its a gift from god!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Bowling chick, that is such a STUPID conclusion!. If that was the case, we could kill 6 month olds and babies, and get away with it!.!. it couldn't be murder cuz a 6 month old can't do anything on their own can they!? They can't continue living without their carer/s!? Think people, THINK!

While abortion is not mentioned directly in the bible, the verse in Jeremiah (Jeremiah!. 1:5!. Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you!.) would be enough to convince me not to even consider an abortion!. If God knows us before we are even formed, I wouldn't want to be the one that "kills" someone God already knows before they're born!.

Proverbs 6:16-19 - There are six things which the LORD hates, yes, seven which are an abomination to Him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and HANDS THAT SHED INNOCENT BLOOD!.!.!.

In my opinion, yes, aborting a child is killing!. You are stopping a beating heart!. Anytime you stop a beating heart you are killing someone!. Isn't that what happens when we die!? Our heart stops beating!.

If you killed a baby when it was a few hours old by stopping it's heart by submerging it in a strong salt solution till it's skin was burned off (saline abortion) or used strong suction to pull it's extremities off (suction aspiration) or cut it into small pieces (dialation and curettage), it would be considered murder!. Why should just a few hours, weeks or even months make a difference!?

The other thing is the horrific ways abortions are performed!.

Please see the link I provided about the methods of abortion!. I had a baby just before the end of my sixth month!. She was not just a "part of my body" she was a perfectly formed individual!. That is the "fetal tissue" lie that the abortionists perpetrate to keep making their profits!.

She did not survive, but I remember when they bought her to me to hold, even in death she had such an annoyed look on her face, like she had been disturbed and wanted to go back to where she was!. I will never forget that look or the warmth of her body and her tiny hands that fit into the crook of my fingers!. She was beautiful, right down to her eyelashes and tiny toenails!.

Exodus 21:22-25 reads:

22 "If men who are fighting hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely [e] but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman's husband demands and the court allows!. 23 But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life, 24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise!.

This verse CLEARLY means that if she gives birth prematurely but the BABY DOES NOT DIE, they fine the man whatever the husband wants!. If the BABY DOES DIE, then LIFE FOR LIFE, tooth for tooth!.!.!.!.!.

I fear for our country because of the innocent blood that is being shed every day in the name of convenience and birth control!. We will pay for it!. We are paying already and it's only going to continue to get worse and worse!.
