Question: Why can't we accept that life is pointless!? Are we trying to impart a non-existing significance for ourselves!?

The human mind is conditioned from birth to belive that it's life is important!. It's part of our biology!. Evolution has a tendency to weed out those individualals that don't value their lives because such individuals die more often and are less likely to invest in raising children!. This explains our desire to find "meaning" for our lives in religion and culture and why people become uncomfortable when they realize their existence has no true purpose or signifigance!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Who are this "we" you are referring to!? You have made a gross generalisation!. I personally have accepted that my life is pointless, so I don't want to be put into your "we" category!. Other peoples lives DO have meaning and more significance, I think its a very personal thing!. Based on your own life experiences, mental state, circumstance and out look on life!. If you have had negative experiences, suffered from depression or "problems", had a lot of "bad" luck and are not an optimist, you tend to conclude your own life means nothing!. But you can't make that a global generalisation!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is not a matter of accepting that life is pointless, it is a matter of accepting that you are responsible for what you make of your life!.
If your life is pointless then it is that way as you have made it as such!.
I am not inclined to make my life pointless, I have freewill and I am able to make decisions about the point to my life!.
Trust that I will still hold you accountable for your behavior regardless of how pointless you have deemed your life to be!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is what you make of it!.
"He who does not know what the world is, does not know where he is!. And he who does not know for what purpose the world exists, does not know who he is, nor what the world is!. But he who has failed in any one of these things could not even say for what purpose he exists himself!. "

Yes and no!. Life may have no inherent significance, but we can create significance for it, on an individual if not large-scale basis!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Unless you know EVERYTHING, which I doubt, you CAN'T know for sure that life is pointless!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because humanity has the ability to impose purpose and meaning upon things and concepts (e!.g!. life)!. It's artificial but it's still good (like false teeth)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

We can't accept that life is pointless because we each have an existing significance for others!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
