I would have to say that the consciousness of death is the driving force behind 100% of our fears and actions!.

No life question can compare to the knowledge that each of us will not be here pretty quick!. And we have a zillion ways to forget about it for a while!. We can booze it up or make up stuff about Jesus saving us or whatever - but when you do get a chance to think, there it is again!
