Extremely interesting question!.

I recognized the multitude of interests that I have across my entire lifetime!. My identity is comprised of "static" interests, and "dynamic" interests!. The static ones are things like: "Ketchup is good"!. The dynamic ones are things like: "I don't like Bush"!. Static interests are more central to your personality and help define some of our basic instinctual desires that make you human!. The dynamic interests can change over short or long periods of time based on the information you receive in life, and also form a more intricate sense of self by adding more complex feelings to your morals/ethics!.

In short, I discovered my identity when I learned to admit to myself when I really, instinctively like something!. There are certain kinds of cars I like because of their shape!. Why do I like those shaped cars!? I don't know!. I am drawn to those cars by some subconscious or instinctual method!. Maybe as a child I saw pictures of cars like that, maybe I had toys that resembled those!. Regardless of why, once you can admit to yourself what you like with confidence, then you have discovered your identity!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I was a child
I became an adult
Started working
I got married
Became single
Married again
Developed an interest in poetry
Joined the Lions Clubs International

I could along the way identify myself with all those but currently am "a married working adult, poet and member of my local Lions Club"

At least I get some variety in life!. Our identity is largely gained from our environment and circumstance, once that changes we do also!. If you are in a constant environment you can easily identify yourself!. But due to this transient society we live in it is not always possible to live a constant and consistent life!. By way of example it is also possible, when one moves to a different country (environment) one becomes a different person and adopts a different identity!.

though spending time with your friends and family and community wether it be a religious community or not!. we must always try new thingsto discover more about our identity!. however i think that identity is not neccessarily something to be discovered but instead we make our own identities!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
