What it really means is don't decide whether the book is good, bad or indifferent based simply upon its appearance!. Open the book, read it (get to know it) then you are in a far better position to determine what type of a book it really is!. This phrase is normally used towards judging people!. Don't judge them by their appearance!. Get to know them (read them) before you pass judgement!.
