Because when you find someone you love, you learn to depend on that person!. Whether it's emotionally or economically, you feel more alive WITH that person, therefore when they leave you don't know how to feel!. Even when you get over the pain and you learn to accept what's happened, you still don't have the answers as to how you will move on!. And there's always the fear of finding someone else and getting hurt again!.

we are social beings!. We have evolved emotions to foster pair-bonding!. When that bonding id in jeopardy, we feel pain!.
