HEY! listen man, I know EXACTLY what you mean!. This is a lot of where the movement in the 60's came from!. Why do we have to adhere to the standards of society!? The short answer is we don't!.

You have to let go of that need to feel like you are winning!. What are you winning anyway!? At what price!?

Sit back for a minute and just imagine your life where you get to say the things you want, where you don't care about other's opinion of you and you are free!. The need to "win" as you are describing it is purely a construction of society!. You see others "winning" and feel like you have to keep up!.

Let me ask you this:
If you won an award, and no one knew you won it, what good would it be!?

"Winning" is only appreciated if there are others to witness it, without others, it's just you being proud of something you accomplished!. Instead of being concerned over others, try enjoying yourself and try day by day to reach that self of yours where you get to be the way you wish you could be!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, I know exactly what you mean!. I was miserable a year ago!. I was a hater!. I wanted to be first!. When driving my car on the interstate, when at work, in social life!. I just wanted so much out of life!. Then i almost died!. Wrecked my car 80 mph hit a pole, cut the car in half!. i should have been dead!. I started to appreciate life!. i woke up in the mornings and was glad to see the sun!. i knew I could have missed it all!. i appreciated my friends, my family, started focusing on the people who had been there for me!. I started to do nice things for them!. It felt good!. really good!. Now I focus more on me, my mind and my body!.!.!.and still family and friends!. But mostly just appreciate life!. Can you do that!? Is it possible to appreciate the breath you take!? You could have a disease, be disfigured, be mentally challenged!.!.!.all kinds of things to be thankful for!. try it you might be surprised!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

life is life, its not a game!. the only winners are those who get to live long and meaningful lives and since the only way to "win" is to not die, were all losers!. but at least you get a shot at trying not to die!. alot of people never even got that chance!. be greatful!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You "feel game" which is a step or more above depression-feeling!.

If you have the notion "Winner" or "Loser," that can be turned against you, in terms of times of depression!.

Wanting to "step off the game" is not necessarily self-murdering, perhaps simply "Stop the world, I want to get off (the merry-go-round)!."

What is sometimes superficially termed a "mid-life crisis" is actually one's soul awareness warning that one needs to be more than the "rich man" or "Saint Martha" who is not "keeping the thing that will not be taken away!."
