Question: To name your fears is to destroy them!. Do you agree!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
YES

It certainly helps!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes to name your fears is the first step to start to destroy them!. Fears are phobias that mostly are kept inside of us either because we are afraid to express them because we think that others may laugh at us or just keep back to show them!. Most fears come as a result that may have come long years before even when we were children and don't even remember them in our conscious mind but are are stored in are subconscious mind!.
Even to get rid of a vice, you have first to admit that you have it, like smoking or alcoholic!. Most don't confess that they are alcoholic and so they don't regard themselves as so!.
But to be hea;ed of this vice you have to admit it and start working against it!.
If you have any fears do name them with someone close to you and try to think why is that fear!. From there you could then start to see that fear from a different angle to get rid of it!.
Good luck to you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No!.

It will depend on your very definition of 'naming'!. If its reminding your fear over and over, there is slight possibility that you will develop even more severe phobia!.

Constantly reminding yourself your phobia will not hardly do anything, sure, we can get used to it by constantly reminding your fear but, there are some 'fear' that we cannot not totally overcome!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nope!. I'm afraid of crowds and that fear never leaves me!. Every time I have to shop or go to the grocery store I try to do it as late as possible when as few of people are out as possible! I hate the pushing and shoving I experience in a crowd but most of all I hate crying screaming kids!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No!. Recognizing what your fears are doesn't rid you of them, it's just the first step to being able to take any action to get rid of them!. If you don't know what they are or acknowledge their existence, then you can't do anything about them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't necessarily agree or disagree!. People can be very upfront about their fears and even face them, but might not ever get over them!. It depends on the person, the degree of fear, and the type of fear!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well we fear the unknown, but you haven't defined a thing by only naming it!. You also have to understand it!.

But then aren't there those irrational fears that we have as a part of being human!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

No!.!.!.naming one's fears is admirable, but overcoming one's fears is the only way to destroy them, for then they have no hold!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

no, i am afraid of heights, i know im afraid of them, i dont want to be afraid of them!. yet i amWww@QuestionHome@Com

No, I disagree!.!.!. I say that I am afraid of the ocean (more like afraid of water I can't see the bottom of - I saw Jaws too young) all the time, and I am still scared as sh*t of the ocean!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

To conquer your fears is to destroy them!. Just listing what they are is a first step, not a completre program!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I disagree!. I have a fear of nocturnal animals!. If I call them "Bob," the fear does not go away!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, not fully!. To name them is only part of the process!. You must then face them to truly destroy them!.
