I remember sitting in class and looking at a collection of Grimm's Folktales, and coming across a story titled "Big Claus and Little Claus"!. As I turned over the pages, I began sounding out the words and beginning to understand the story, all on my own!. When I finished the story, I was trembling with excitement!. I looked at another story in the book: "The Tinder Box"---and I could understand the words there, too! I looked up from the book, and I saw other books on the shelves of the classroom!. I got up and picked out another book!. I opened it, and I discovered I could understand the words in that book too! I could read!
My parents' home was full of books---I grew up being read to, and looking at books, seeing the pictures, feeling their pages, smelling the good smells of paper and binding, and knowing they were special treasures, but never before now had I been able to look at the words and know what they meant!. Now, after that miraculous day in class, I knew I could go home, or to a library, or a bookstore, and a whole new part of the world would be mine to discover and explore and take inside me!.

I haven't stopped reading since, and I don't intend to stop reading until the day I die!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

When i was in year two a girl i hardly knew came and sat next to me in class (when i was sitting by myself) on the first day and because is sort of had no friends in grade one i was really shocked but then we started talking and playing games, its hard to explain but it made me feel so happy at the time and we have been best friends ever since, and im in grade 9 now at a different school to her! and i will never ever ever forget that!Www@QuestionHome@Com

A very sad one!. During the summer after 5th grade a very sweet classmate died in a tragic home accident involving fire!. Sorry to submit such a sad one, but I can't think of any memory that stands out more than that one!. As I grew up, I often wondered what he would have been like as we progressed through school!. When I was in grade school, I met my best friend, Hazen Averill!. Early in school, he used to cry a lot because he missed his mom, and one day the teacher asked the class before recess if anyone would play with Hazen because he missed his mom and needed a friend!.!.!. the whole class raised their hands, and when recess came, I was the only one to approach him to play together!. (I think this may have been kindergarden) We played with those big cardboard boxes that looked like blocks!.!.!. and we've been best friends ever since!. Sixth grade class trip!. We went up the Tennessee River and through the locks and back!. At the time the Bunny Hop was popular and I remember all of us doing it around the boat as we sailed!. That day was a heck of a lot of fun and one I won't ever forget!. Oh to be that young and carefree again, before we grew up and had children and responsibilities!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I was in first grade, my sister in third!. We were at recess and a girl that had been mean to me earlier that day was swinging, when I walked by she swung out hard and kicked me!. My sister saw it and came over and pulled her off the swing and I hit her!. The teacher saw that part and made me stand on a square tile in the class room the rest of recess for punishment!. I didn't care, nor did I defend myself to the teacher!. I just took the punishment (I actually thought it was kind of cool having to stand there!.) and the girl didn't tell what my sister had done!. Ermm at the end of term in my English class our teacher brought in SingStar, and the my ICT teacher from next door came in (who is funny) and we all sang on SingStar, and then I sang against my english teacher, then I realised me ICT teacher had gotten his phone out and was filming me!
